Help! Set makeup!

Hey guys. I am in the market for new wedges and I think I have decided on Ben Hogan Carnoustie wedges. I love the look and finish. One problem. They don't come in 58º. I wanted a 52º and 58º. I only carry 2 wedges. That's all I want to carry. (please don't post a response saying "you should consider 3 wedges" or something like that) They come in 52º, 54º, 56º, and 60º. My PW is 46º. Any thoughts or suggestions as to what lofts to carry? Thanks!

you could get a 60* and have it bent to 58* - and if you really wanted I am sure some business can change what it says on the bottom of the club. good luck

(cool) ive read the suggestions about bending the 60* dont do that. please read this and consider it. if you bend a 60* you then also reduce the bounce another 2*. if you must have the 58* you will also need the bounce try the 56* bent to the required 58* then have a custom grind performed to the desired bounce. i checked out the hogan specs on the 56 wedge. they come with 12 * bounce so your options are endless. i hope you consider this option, and i hope it helps :golfer:

why not a 56 and 60 and when you have a gap hit pw

I don't think bending the 6010 to 58 would be bad. 8* bounce would be what most low bounce lob wedges would come with. If he wants a low bounce model. But I think it is accademic, because he does not want to bend the clubs, and i doubt he would want to then grind them either.

 

With no modifications I think you go with a 54 / 60 combo.

If you're not dead-set on the Hogan wedges, look at the Mizuno MP-T's. They have a similar look to the Carnousties, they're softer, and they come in more lofts. I carry a 53 and a 58, and I like the distance gaps. Plus, I can open the 58 a touch and it plays like a 60.
