Shaft Help

Ok for reference, my ss is about 100 and i carry the ball about 250-260, I recently purchased a 905r 10.5 and tried almost every stock shaft I could in it. My previous driver was a 905t 10.5 with a pro launch 65r and on the monitor my launch conditions were about 12 degrees launch angle and averaged around 3000 rpm, I was told that was ideal. Because the conditions were good that is the shaft i have in my 905r, BUT................. it feels like absoulute garbage. Please help me with something similar. Also for reference the best feeling driver I have ever possesed was a 9.5 983k with a prolite stiff in it, that was two years ago and now I am swinging a regular flex, I feel like an old man but im only 19 and Im not hitting it any shorter. I am considering a v2 65 stiff or a fuji tour platform stiff, both blind bored into the hosel an inch or so. Any help would be very much Appreciated, I know you guys have the knowledge and experience to help me out.

Could you describe in more detail what kind of problem you are having with the prolaunch blue? Is the problem feel or performance related (launch too high/high-spin/not enough distance).

Both the V2 65 and Tour Platform have slightly higher torque ratings so they may feel less boardy than the prolaunch blue. Both are excellent and highly recommended. Another one to consider is the Diamana Red Board.

The problem I have mainly is that it feels terrible, almost no release or explosive feel, and slight lack of distance I feel. Looking for very long distance, not concerned about control so much as i hit the r very straight with any shaft.

My vote would be for the Proforce V2 65. I think this shaft works very well in the Titleist heads for some reason (probably the 4" parallel tip). The 65 launches fairly high like the prolaunch blue. If you are looking for a lower ball flight/spin rate then I would go with the 75.

Red Diamana. Its a little expensive but it is worth every penny. I have the 73X and my swing speed is around 110mph and it just feels perfect in the 905R. It hits the high flat shots that just carry forever.

I feel your pain. I switched from a 983K with the Titleist Speeder to the 905R with the Titleist Speeder. I thought it would be a smooth transition, and my launch numbers were great. But playing the club was very different. It took me a little while of using the club to really start to get used to it. Now it feels great in my hands. It seems that the bigger and especially lighter head really changes the feel. One way I got a better feel with it was to take more practice swings with it before my shot. Even slow motion practice swings focusing on feeling the club head. It helped me to re-calibrate my feelings for the club from other clubs (3W or irons). I'm sure you'll find the right combo and right feeling for you.
