Does anyone know if golf clubs sold in thailand are the usa version, or the high cor japanese version?

Just be careful when you buy in Thailand. They have genuine clubs and a lot of fake ones too. The fake ones come from Indonesia and China. Most common brands that are "faked" over there are Callaway's, Clevelands, Mizuno, TM, Honmas, Nikes. Pretty much most of the big names.

 

Buyer beware, If the prices are unbelievable, it's probably because they're fake.

Joey, Bangkok is still waiting for you :) I went to Khun Visit's shop for the first time a few days ago. Nice setup!

 

On golf clubs, as Joey said, they have both the US and Asian versions, but the US versions are usually grey imports. Taniya Complex has everything except that X flex shafts are difficult to get. Most divers I have seen are actually USGA compliant ie 0.83 COR. In fact the J-spec clubs are more expensive.

is taniya complex the big "golf mall" that is close to the dusit thani? we had a wedding ceremony in thailand for my grandparents and family that i do not see often. they took me to a big mall that had everything you could imagine for golf, while my wife was at the spa (best way to do it). i came out with a sonartec 3 wood and a r7, all for my set of clubs i leave in thailand. anyways, my brother is heading back to thailand this summer and he will pick me up a new mizuno bag (non usa version), so hopefully they have the ones on tourspecgolf.com. anyways, i told him to keep an eye out on an r7 425 tp head, should i be hesitant about this? i've played clubs in thailand and they play legit, so hopefully they are legit. good luck

Any recomandations in Thailand, this will be my first time there. I´ll be staying in Chiang Mai.. but I´ll travel around.

I was thinking of mabybe getting a .86 COR version of the FT-3. Do they have any launch monitors and such over there?

You will have to come down to Bangkok, at Thaniya building to find golf clubs. In Chiengmai, the selections are not as good. Don't worry about the fake stuff if you buy new clubs from the authorized dealers, they have void sticker (a little silver sticker on the shaft from the authorized dealer) It helps a lot for determining fake and original.

I spent my time in Phetchaburi years ago, before golf made it out ot BKK. I'm looking for an Adidas golf bag, seen mostly in Japan websites, I've still have lots of family in Phetchaburi and am now thinking of having them look for a golf bag. Any other thoughts or do you think the price will exceed buying from Japan? Sawadee!
