Even if they are carry/stand bags it will be over weight.

I have done it and on Continental. I used two stand bags with a soft sided travel cover. There was nothing in there except bags, clubs and some towels for protection. I used a couple of straps to bind the 2 bags together. As far as balls, gloves, shoes...they had to go in one of the suitcases. I'm not real sure my wife's bag had 14 clubs in it. Mine did. Hers may have had only 12 or 13 clubs. She has some clubs she just never tries to hit. The trick is to keep it under the weight limit. Whenever I travel with a suitcase or clubs or anything for more than just a day or two...I weigh my stuff at home right after packing.

Thanks Rick, that is exactly what I will do. I just weighed my clubs (14) in the bag with no shoes and no balls and it was only 19.5 lbs. My wifes bag will be less (I assume) as she only has 11 clubs and all graphite shafts. Both the bag are the Nike extreme lite and extreme element.
I assume the cover bag will not be more than 5 lbs and should be able to fit the shoes and a coupleof balls.
Can you believe it?
But has anyone had a problem with the airlines wanting to check the contents?

TSA is the only one that would open them up. Not sure they would care. The issue will be if you make a claim for lost or damages. They will not assume liability for 2 golf bags, if they accept responsibilty.

As TML said, No insurance from the airline is goes missing or damaged. They clearly state one bag, 14 clubs and 1 dozen balls, that all they cover. So if the whole works gets lost, it will only cover 1/2 of what's in the travel bag and if there is damage, they might not cover anything since it is against their policy.

Went to Dallas about a week ago with a buddy flying American Airlines...

We both used Sunday bags (with prob 17 clubs in each lol) and put both of them along with: a cart cover, cart heater (no propane tank), two pairs of shoes, 2 towels, and three dozen balls in my Club Glove XXL travel bag. It weighed a ton!

We each had 1 check in bag and they charged me only $30 for the clubs which is the standard 2nd checked bag fee.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
