New Help with putting together a new Driver..

SO I have decided to go the route of buying an Adam Speedline Head (9.5) and I want to get a new shaft, but I want it to be close to the secs of my current driver. I love my driver I have now, but It has lost alot of the pop, so time to move on.. I current have a Cobra 440 sz, the shaft is S flex, and 55 gram. I am at work and can update with more specs, but dont recall them off the top of my head. I want to get a really good shaft that is close to those specs. I hit the ball high, so I wanted to maybe try to tweak the specs just a bit to hitting a more penetrating ball flight, less height. Any opinions and advice is greatly appreciated....

My advice would be to get a proper driver fitting and take the guesswork out of what you think you may need.
Whilst there is nothing wrong with the Adams Speedline driver, getting a driver close to the specs of the Cobra you already have is not going to be easy in two different heads. A simpler method could be to just stiffen the shaft you already have, which is probably the rather weedy Graphite design YS 5.1 at around 55g. A slightly heavier YS-6 could transform it for the better.

Thanks for the info..

Since I am new to club building, whats the likely hood of being able to take the shaft I have in my Cobra now, and interchanging it with a newer head?

OP
you can take the shaft out of your cobra and put in a head no problem if pulled correctly. a shaft puller is a must and a heat gun, no torches. you can test the tip after you pull it to see if its still good by putting the tip on the edge of a table and pushing down, rotating too while you do this. if it makes a cracking sound, or worse breaks, it was never meant to go in another head because its done for. if it doesnt, its good to go, just prep the tip well and you shouldnt have much of a problem. hope that helps and forgive me if i was holding your hand too much on this answer just being thorough.
