Do you think they should have postponed the final round until Monday? I know there wasnt any lightning but it was raining pretty hard and the leaders were having to lay up on Par 4's. Just wanna see what everyone thinks.

I love to watch them play in the rain. I find the passing of the umbrella from caddie to player amazingly well orchestrated.... do these guys practice that? I'd be a bummbling idiot out there trying to pass off the umbrella too soon and not being there to take it at the right time.

I thought it was interesting to watch the players deal with the poor conditions. I was really impressed with their ability to remap their games to compensate for the weather. I guess thats why they're pro's and I run to dense trees when it starts to rain. :)

 

The coverage was questionable though. They kept swapping between recorded tape and real-time shots. It was a bit confusing.

I think they should have finished like they did, first they have a caddie to keep everything dry, second they have the best rain gear, third there was no lightening and fourth weather is part of the game.

Doesn't the rain actually help them on the green? Meaning that it slows the greens down a little bit? also doesn't it make it softer, so they can be a little more aggressive to the pin?

Actually it makes it very difficult to read a putt. The speed depends on how well the green is draining. it can be different from one foot to the next. And also putts don't break like the should, sometimes it will slide right through a break other times the ball will lock into a line. Also greens that normally don't have a grain all of a sudden do.

No, they shouldn't have postponed it. I went to the tournament and followed Duval in the rain and he never had to lay up on any holes, so I don't know what holes you are talking about. The only hole they had trouble getting to it in regulation was #9.

They have "Sub-Air" under their greens so they drain relatively quick. Quail Hollow drains better than any course that I have ever seen. Yes, it drains better than Augusta.
