HTD 7250 vs. V2

Looking for a new shaft

I was working with a club fitter and I hit the two above shafts the best. My numbers were more consistent with the HTD, but the head (Ping G2) on the HTD is also more forgiving then the one on the V2. I am going to either reshaft my 8.5* R7 or looking to find a used G2 and replace the shaft on that head instead.

Is the HTD 7250 Tour shaft truely better than the V2?

I went through the same process as you a month ago. I was looking for new shaft for my Launcher 460. I hit many of the shafts that my fitter had and came down to the 7250 or V2. I went with the 7250 because I like the weight (81g) of the shaft, I need to be able to feel the club. I just played my second round with it and still working on my swing. When I swung well, I hit soom long bombs! My misses were usually still in the fairway, very tight shaft. I have a ss100-105 and went with the regular flex since the shaft is 81g it plays close to a stiff. I think that HTD is a great shaft and can't wait unitl I get my driver swing worked out.

Good to hear that you like the shaft.

 

You went with the regular flex? UST's site shows that it is only available in S and X flex. My driver SS is between 98 and 102 and my fitter was pushing the stiff flex. I have wondered if I could get away with a regular flex and maybe tip it if necessary.

Yes mine is a regular flex, I noticed the web didn't list the regular. Mine is marked 7250-R46. I emailed UST and they told me that R46 means regular 46 ". I think that a stiff would be to much for me, I have a medium to fast tempo.

I dont really have an opinion on this shaft but I do have one if your interested. I bought ir with the intention of using it but Im hitting the HTD CB model so I well I never used it. I do believe tho that when you see the tour pro play HTD shafts they are most likely the 7250 and CB 85s.

What is the tip size? I am looking to fit it in a Ping G2 head or an R7.
