Is U Pro or plain laser better???

hi all - for you G3 or G5 users plz chime in....

when obtaining the distance to a specific target am I correct to assume that the center of the circle or the circle itself represents the point you are kind of measuring to?

is it touch screen or do I drag? I found that I couldnt get a close to a target that I wanted - in other words, the screen was super sensitive. And manuevering the flag presented a challenge as well....again, very sensitive to touch or drag and there appeared to be minimal wiggle room to position the flag.....the sales rep was 0 help, didnt know if it was touch or drag screen, and suggested the G5 could have been on for several days and mismanaged by testing customer.

My friend has a U Pro and he has almost a mouse that enables spot on measurements.

Any insight and thoughts are greatly appreciated!!!

Lastly, is Laser better...understand that this is subjective though anyone who cares to chime plz do so.....I tried the Bushnell Medalist and coundnt keep my darn hand steady enough.....

Actually, you can do both - drag or touch. They designed the cursor (circle) to be offset from the center of your finger when dragging so you can see where it is in relation to the screen. They recognized that placing it precisely where you want is difficult to do if your finger is blocking it. Once you get used to this, it's very easy to manuever, and the jumpiness you experienced will be greatly minimized.

There is also a calibration feature that is tough to find on units that do not have the latest software. The latest version is 3.00 and with this version the calibration feature is easily found under settings (wrench in lower right corner). In versions prior to this you had to press and hold the on-off button for 30-45 seconds to get to the calibration. It was not intuitive and needed to be fixed, which they did with this most recent update. The update was just released in the last week, so you were probably using the older version software and chances are high that it had not been calibrated.

Even though the unit was designed with a finger in mind as the interface, I find it easier to just use the head of a tee.

I'm more interested in the new features of this unit and if it comes with a yearly membership to use it, I'm all in.I don't make a ton of money, but I can afford $50 a year for information I think can help my game. I've said once and I'll say it again, nothing is for FREE...
