Fujikura Speeder 553 Tour Spec

Sorry its a 569 not a 553...my bad, what the Dif?

I have an un-cut Fujikura Speeder 553 Tour Spec...Does anyone know anything about this shaft...(other than its lite). I dont know what I am going to put it in yet, but I want to find out what I can about the shaft first.

58 for Reg, 60 for Stiff, and 62 grams for X-Stiff.....3.4 torque.....Low spin...mid launch....and for a mid tempo swing.......this is from the Fujikura USA's web site. Don't let it's weight fool you, this shaft plays stout for a lightweight shaft. ;)

Now all I need to do is find a head for it... I think I am going to try and find a Srixon 505 head from Japan ;)

Some people call it a lite weight 757 -

I had a stiff flex set up for me in a firmish flex - 252 cpms in a Mizuno MP001 10 deg - you can feel the tip trying to keep the ball down - it's a mid launch low spin shaft - nice shaft - I think the higher the swingspeed the smoother it will feel (as in most stiffer tip shafts). I wanted something with a little more launch and and a tad softer tip as I am more of a smooth transition, medium load guy and went to an MW54.

Alot, first off the 569 is a mid spin shaft versus the 553 Speeder at low spin shaft. The 569 Speeder is high launch versus the Speeder 553 is mid launch. The Speeder 569 is a 54 Reg, 55 Stiff and 56 X-Stiff gram shaft, so the 569 is about 5 grams lighter than the 553. The Speeder 569 is 4.4 degrees of torque versus the 3.4 degrees of torque in the Speeder 553, therefore the difference between these two shaft is night and day.

I have heard guys using the Speeder 569 that really fits them as well as the Speeder 553 that fits others, some guys like bacon and eggs, where others prefer ham and eggs, hell, I even know guys who prefer oatmeal.

Find out what profile in shafts that you need and go from there, I've heard that choosing shafts by color isn't the best way of getting the results that you need. ;)

Big Difference.

If the 553 was for you, the 569 is not - high launch, medium to high spin (depending on how hard you go at it and how installed). More for a swinger with a smooth tempo - think of a more stable version of the old ys-6. Nice shaft, but not in the same profile as the 553. Then again, it could work but you must make compromises. For example, I could play the 553 if set up firmish and I could play the 569 with a smooth transition and medium load. But neither would fit as well as an MW54.

Good to know...I'm glad I asked. Once I find a head I think what I will do is trade up with it. I'm sure Chip Usher will be willing to trade for something that will fit me better, since the shaft is un-cut.
