Thanks WRX'ers for your help!

I appreciate all the feedback I received on WRX posters on helping me put together my bag. Still thinking there may be too large a gap between the 19* hybrid and the 24* 4 iron, so insight or suggestions are welcome.

Here is what I am gaming here in San Diego/Palm Springs:

Driver- 10.5* Ping G15 TFC 149D stiff
3 wood- 15* Taylormade R9 Fujikura Motore stiff
Hybrid- 19* Adams A7 UST Proforce AXIVCore regular
4-PW iron- Titleist AP2 710 DG S300
Wedges- Fourteen MT28-V4 52*, 56*, and 60* DG
Putter- Scotty Cameron Studio Select Squareback #1
Grips- Golf Pride
Bag- Sun Mountain C-130

I like quite a bit. Their almost too pretty to hit. They're a lower bounce than my Clevelands but I think it works better for SoCal. I was torn between the Fourteen's and Scratch but the weight and head shape seemed to fit me a little better and they spin nicely too. If you get the chance give'em a try. My set isn't exactly the most unique but I think that I did a good job for my first premium set-up.

The distance gap between 3w and hybrid seems like it would be fairly big.....

everything is top notch except for the trifold towel clipped to your bag . . . . haha what are your distances for the 4 iron and 19*?

Great bag, you definitely chose some nice sticks.

I have a very similar set-up at the top of the bag. Sure, there is an added 5-10 yard gap between the 3 wood - hybrid and hybrid - 4 iron, but that gap is exposed maybe once a round. In exchange, I have much better playability from 120 yards in with the extra wedge. I'd rather the gap be at the top of the bag rather than the bottom.

I know, lol. The towell is from when I was in the Navy on the USS Fitzgerald, a guided missle destroyer. It has the ship's name and crest on it so I can't bring myself to ditch it. But I suppose could always store for nostalgia and pick up a Titleist towell or something. It would suck if I lost it too.

 

My current distances are a little askew from what I've known in the past because I have been taking lesson (10 so far in the year and a half that I've been playing) and it has changed my distances and pushed my handicap down to 11. But if I had to guess I would say that my 4 iron is 185 or so, 19* is about 200, and 3 wood about 220. I found a place here in San Diego that can measure all your distances for you so I may do that to see where the gaps are.

Actually, I just picked them up so I haven't played a round with them just yet. However, they felt great at the driving range. It came down the R9TP and the AP2's. I was fitted once and then tried the Mizuno optimizer to see how it compared. Surprisingly the Mizuno system is really accurate for only 3 good swings.
