Yes I have had both. The nice thing about Scratch is that you can get what ever grind you want, the Miura's have a very sharp leading edge. As for feel, that is really close they both feel really nice, but unless you play off really firm fairways get the scratch TD irons, and have Don White put the grind on them for your home track.

The Scratch irons are great. Easily the best irons that I'd ever played, until I got a set of Miura's that is. The Miura's are even better! The grind on my Miura TB's is very similar to that of the D/S SB-1's as far as turf interaction is concerned. I have had no problems with either digging too much so I wouldn't be concerned with that. I like my Miura's so much that I sold my SB-1's and will be buying a set of 1957 blades.

Almost forgot, contact PlayersEdge (on this forum) to get a set of either the Miura's or the Scratch irons. He's a dealer for both and one hell of a fine club builder.

Both clubs are great and I have played both. I don't like the shape of short irons on Muira's and the do dig for me (and I fit between S/S and D/S) even though I'm not steep at all. US versions are better than Japanese version as far as grind and digging go. If you take shallow or little to no divots you can't go wrong with either set. It will come down to preference on shape and how you contact the ball.

Decisions, decisions..... Anyone else played both on hardpan or firm fairways?

Both will work well in those situations. Muira's generally have a sharper leading edge and lower bounce angles, so some struggle on soft sand based areas.

I am the opposite of iteach. I like the shape of the Miuras better and I fit into a D/D grind in the scratch and dont have a problem with the Miuras digging. If the scratch TD irons werent so expensive I probably would have got a set, but I dont like the look of the stock SB1 so that made my choice pretty simple. To each his own. :drinks:
Ahh, ok. Im a S/S and like a razor edge since I play on good ole TX hardpan.

If you take the 7.0s out of the wedges then you will really breakup the continuity of the MAN BAG......... friends.gif

I like them a lot, but the PX takes too much spin off and I lose control. I am switching to girly wedge shafts in my SW and LW, s400, lol. They will feel better and spin a bit more. Forgot to add that I will be testing the DG spinner once I get them in.

Will the MAN BAG be saved if I throw some porno magazines in there? What do you suggest?

Hmm.... Porno mags(girl on girl), travel size bottle of Old Spice and a chewed on, but not smoked, cigar butt. Real men chew on cigars because they love the taste, not smoke them to be trendy! That should do it.... friends.gif

I still like the DG X7 in my 53*/GW, since it's more likely to be used in a full shot situation. I guarantee you will be taking the S400 out of the gapper atleast.

The 58*/SW is a tossup. A nice X100 will keep it down but definitely give you some spin vs PX7.0 on your halfers and pitchers.

The 63*/LW I did have X100 but am tryin an R flex Nippon & S flex KBS Tour. I definitely want to checkout the new KBS Tour High-Rev for a LW. Of course I never hit a full shot so the soft shaft gives even more feel and spin around the greens. Maybe I should look for one of those DG Spinners, let me know how it works out. Make sure that DG Spinner is X flex though!

I need to update my sig to reflect the new Scratch 1018 wedge setup. These things are so soft that I used em for a pillow to take a nap earlier after Judge Judy!
