Ripped off by a fellow golfwrx'er !

WHAT TO DO NOW?
I bought a TaylorMade R7 TP 3 wood from CLUBSINMOTION on here. I paid for it almost 2 weeks ago and was supposed to get it shipped that day via 2 day mail and be provided with a tracking number. Well as you can probably guess I have received NOTHING!! I have contacted clubsinmotion numerous times since I payed looking for a tracking number or any shipping info he might have. First few days it was "let me dig up the tracking number for you and get back to you" then after a week or so of no club delivery his response was "if you dont get it tomorrow I will overnight you another one"... He never provided a tracking number nor delivered me a club so both things he said he would do were lip service. Now he just refuses to respond to my PM's that I know he reads because I use the message tracker feature on here. My question is what do I do now? Is there any help provided by golfwrx or anyone on the staff I should contact and let them now what is going on? I would also like to warn other forum members to be careful because this guy talks a good game while never delivering the goods! Our word is all we have on here and it stinks when someone jepordizes the integrity of the forum by being dishonest and unethical :friends:

I did indeed use Paypal... they now have a new feature where they force the buyer and seller to try and work out the issue themselves before escalating to a claim. Its funny, we pay Paypal fees to get help in a situation like this and now we have to try and straighen out a crooked seller ourselves. I was more looking for advice on possibly getting help or advice from a golfwrx member or a moderator who might have experiance in dealing with a headache like this. I have done many deals on here and this is the first scammer I have run into.

it's not a new feature.they give the seller the time to answer yor complaint.theyhave already put a hold on his account if he has the funds.keep all of his emails to show paypal if needed.i would also call them in a few days to get an update from them.hope this helps.

I have only been scammed once and it wasn't here, but on another site. I scrapped up what little info I had about him, found out where he lived as well as his adult daughter. Long story short, once I told him I knew where he lived, he suddenly came through.....sort of. He was supposed to send a set of Pings and he sent a set of Callaway's instead, but at least I got something.

So, I would find out where he lives and put the heat on. Most scammers think that nobody will ever find them, but what I have found it that 99% of the people on this site and others are GREAT people and we will, as a community, find them.

If you don't get this resolved, I will start a new post myself for donations. I will send $5 and ask everyone else to do the same(or whatever they can afford). If we all chip, we can get your money back and you can buy something else here. If there is extra, we could have a 'payitforward' paypal account set up for other RARE problems in the future.

I just logged back on and while i didnt get a response from clubsinmotion like i was hoping for it was pleasantly surprising to see the posts from you guys in support. While this guy ignoring my PM's is very frustrating the help from you guys has renewed my faith in the forum that there are good people out here, even though I have still not heard from or received anything from the seller. I just talked to someone else who is also currently waiting for something from this guy as well and said if he doesnt get it tomorrow he will add his story to this thread on Friday... I encouraged him to add it today so the fellow memebrs could be warned about buying from this deadbeat. I like the idea of maybe one of the mods starting a club where they collect $5 from anyone who is interested and using it as a kitty when a "club" member gets scammed. What sucks the most about this is it makes me jittery to do business online now even though 99.99% of us club ho's are the most honest guys going... its sucks wondering who the 0.01% are..lol. Anyway thanks again guys and hopefully this thing works out. :friends:

 

 

Hopefully this knucklehead sees this post and decides to send me and the other member he stiffed our stuff and all will be well... then again I still beleive in the Easter Bunny. LOL

I appreciate you stepping up to the plate somewhat here but your story still doesnt gel. First off there never was a first package shipped because you could never get me the first tracking number that you should still have if you are filing a claim with UPS!!! ( I would still like to see the first tracking number for peace of mind, but I know there isnt one) Second, the tracking number that you DID provide states that you only notified UPS that you would be shipping a package but that NOTHING has actually been shipped yet. Trust me I am not stupid so dont spread that manure in my kitchen. Thirdly as far as your Blackberry situation that is BS because I would check your profile on here frequently and see that you were signed on and active in threads so if you can do that you can surely get your PM's. Nice try with the stories but they dont really make to much sense if you sit back and think about it. Not to mention that there are other members that Pm'ed me with the same exact story when they did business with you as I had. :friends:

I received a PM from Clubsinmotion regarding a 905R. He said he had a bunch of them and was willing to sell one to me. I asked him how much, and his reply was "how much will you pay?" . Since then, I pm'd him what I was looking to spend and he's yet to get back to me. I guess I'm glad I didn't go through with the purchase or perhaps I'd also be in your shoes.

Too many people on this board that will put him on the black list.

Alright guys, let us not turn this into a public lynching and please keep all comments at least minimally constructive.

 

Maybe it has to do with the public bullying I have seen elsewhere, but "step up to the plate," "show us what you're made of," "deliver the goods," and the all-encompassing, "step up" just rub me wrong (and considering the celebrations going on this week, that would be some REALLY wrong rubbing! :friends: ). Yep. He owned his part and says he's going to the square things up. Sometimes stuff happens. Let's give him a chance to follow through.

All rubbing aside :idhitit: I must say that the support from the members makes me have no doubts about doing deals here again as they have shown that the good apples far out weigh the bad apples on this site. I must also admit I have been a member at another forum for several years now, and am somewhat new here but the support and charachter of these guys makes this my preffered site for sure. Thanks again for everyones help as I am pretty sure without it I would still be beating my head against the wall!!! Thanks guys next round is on me.. :friends:

His feedback shows all positives with zero neutrals or negatives...i am surprised there are no neg.'s since you said other members had problems with him...i am sure it was just a misplaced item, and was not the seller's fault...i hope u get it soon anyway

 

Not to be negative again, but he only has 3ratings, and it looks like he has tons of things on the board, so why so few ratings? hmmmm, I don't know. But you're right, we SHOULD give him the benefit of the doubt.

 

BUT, what if he doesn't come through? What ramifications does a member have (on this board) for completing a bad sale?

Excellent point Ken. If there have been that many bad transactions then those should definitely be recorded. This buy-sell-trade feedback system is not a standard across the various boards, but is a valuable tool I think, as we continue to grow. It is up to our members to utilize the feedback system that has been set up to make it work though. I won't hesitate to leave a negative or neutral feedback ONCE EVERYTHING HAS BEEN COMPLETED, and have also left positives for each transaction completed (though haven't received in turn :friends: but to be fair, I'm not too concerned as I'm more established here--for good or bad--than some of the other sellers in the classified sections).

 

Also, because we are MUCH smaller than ebay, it is much easier to investigate BST's and make sure the feedback system isn't being abused. If ANYONE receives feedback that isn't warranted, don't hesitate to make it known--but conversely don't complain if you get dinged for not holding up to the standards that should follow a sale.

I think some people are afraid to leave negatives because the other person in the deal would leave them a negative in return. As in my case if I do leave him a bad review and we all have established that I have done nothing wrong in my dealing with CIM whats to stop him from leaving me an unjustified negative thus spoiling my perfect feedback on here. I think people are sketchy about leaving negatives in fear or a retaliation negative left for them. Jut a thought :friends:

Unlike EBAY where it's like pulling teeth to remove a negative.. The staff here can listen to both sides of the story and make a decision to "edit" the feedback...so dont let that scare you from telling the truth. We can take care of it.

Shoot if you think that's bad, I sent a package 7 weeks ago via USPS priority mail, and it finally got there yesterday!!!!!! :yahoo:

I sent something priority mail (2-3 days) and it took 2 weeks... ofcourse it was xmas time. Also I was sent something that was said to be delivered, but it has not. I've has 4 different case numbers with USPS...runaround runaround....good thing it was only $40 bucks.
