Sasquatch 3 wood head weight

Is there any difference in the head weight for the SQ 3 wood between the graphite and steel? I think I might like the SQ with the standard steel but do not want to have issues in the future if I decide I want to reshaft with graphite. Thanks

In a magic world the answer would be yes, there is a difference. The head of the steel should be lighter. Even better, each head would matched to its own shaft.

 

In the real world, the heads will be the same. To adjust swing weight, the steel shafted clubs are half an inch shorter than the graphite ones. This obviously nowhere near enough to counter the difference in weight between the shafts, and every steel shafted wood I've tried feels much heavier than its graphite cousin.

 

I've also swapped out graphite for steel and had the same result.

 

It also depends, of course, what you replace the steel shaft with. Nike use a 63g graphite shaft, but most aftermarket fairway shafts are considerably heavier.

 

I'd have a swing with both in the store and then buy whichever one feels best to you. I personally like the heavier feel and control of steel or heavy graphite, such as the Grafalloy BiMatrx which is halfway between both.

nike heads are the same weight for either shaft..

 

sooo.. if you plan on reshafting.. save $$ and get a steel shafted one.

Yes, hostorically Nike has had similar head weights for steel and graphite shafted heads, unlike other OEMs.
