Taylor Made Customer Service?

What can I expect? R5 TP Heel cracked.

I was on the 14th tee on my local track and after a few iffy couple of bogeys on the first 4 holes on the course, I had enjoyed a run of 10 pars on the bounce and was on track for a handicap or better round......

Anyway without digressing too much back to the 14th tee....

A good swing... a loud crack :) and the ball rockets off right into the trees (I'm a lefty for reference). Upon inspecting the driver, I noticed it was cracked below the hosel on the heel. As I always wipe the face after each tee shot, it is always possible to see where you have connected with the ball. The dimple pattern revelead a good strike almost dead center...... go figure... :cheesy:

Anway the rest of the round disentigrates due to a busted driver and a mentally scarred brain.

So having imported the club from a fellow member in the US, repair of could prove interesting.

Called TM Uk and they stated it would have to be sent back by a local retailer with an account.

So I drop the club off at a shop where I buy a decent amount of gear off. They are very obliging and will send the club back with no charge......

Anyway so after all of my above waffle(sorry), from previous experience of other members what can I expect to hear / receive back from Taylor Made......? Club was sent in excellent condition barring the creacked heel.

I'll post back the overall outcome but would welcome any input from the membership.... :smilie_cally:

I recently caved the face of a Rescue Dual TP and snapped the shaft in a new R7 St fairway. TM replaced the Rescue in 6 days and reshafted the R7 in 12 days.

 

Assuming that you have the stock shaft and grip on your R5, the turn-around time shouldn't be longer than a couple weeks. If you had a different grip or shaft than original, they told me that it must go through their custom shop and it could take 3-4 weeks.

 

Anyway, after how they treated me last month, I'm totally happy and needless to say, completely impressed with their customer service.

most of the time they will send a new club. I can usually always get them to send a new club usually with a call tag so I dont have to pay the shipping. Im not sure how it is out of the US, but I would def bet that they will send a new club. Taylor did send everyone RAs for the R5 TP drivers to send back. I think because they werent selling at all.
