MP-60, J33, or TP MB

can't decide (well, still have to demo the MB's...who can comp
Who has had experience with the new MB's and how do them compare to the MP-60 and J33's. I bought the x-tours about 6 months ago and loved them (moved from a 10.8 to a 7.2, shooting my two lowest rounds ever of 74 and 75). Still enjoy them, but the bounce is starting to get to me now that everything is cut shorter. So, I figured I'd keep the x-tours and have a "winter" or "when the swing was off set" and another set for times like now.

I hit the mp-60s and j33 combos today...Both felt great. Comparable distance. I like the ability to work the ball, but don't do so often...both of these sets allowed me to do so with no problem. What about the MB TP's? I have and love all the TP wedges, so I think I'll enjoy the rac feel pockets, but can't find them anywhere in atlanta to demo until next Monday.

Thanks...

I was once sold on the MP60's but really began to hit them too high and the offset starting looking like too much to my eye. They were very soft and in many ways were better than the 32's.

The J33's I had as blade set and the combo set and hated them both.....a great deal. They felt hard and clunky. The wedges IMO were borderline awful. I think this may be a brand that was overhyped and I got sucked up into the fray.

The TM 06 TP MB's are a sweet set. Much like you I love the TP Black Wedges they were in my bag all the time even when I played X Tours and FT3 Drivers. The TM's have the perfect amount of offset...virtually zero and feel really great. Extereme workability, less forgiving than the MP60's but it's not something that I really notice.

The TM wedges led me back to TM from Cally, first it was the driver, then the iron set. This is the happiest I have been with a bag of clubs in sometime. I know now I cannot blame the arrows.

The lofts didn't really bother me at all...Interestingly, I was getting 5-7 more yards between the mp60/j33 and my xtours after hitting them back to back...Also, they both felt much better than the xtours...I've tried the Titleist line...I like the 695cb, but not much else from them, I don't know why, but can't grasp it. My brother has the lt2 and I played multiple times with them, but after playing forged for a while, it would be tough to give up the feel.

Haven't tried the Srixons...i'll add them to the list

I have owned the j33 combos and currently own the J33cbs and Mp60s.

The combos hit the long irons the highest and the blade short irons can be a little demanding although they are very workable. Very nice sole design IMO and seems like it would work well for a digger. Never could get used to the look of them. Forgiving in the sense they get the ball up but not much help on sidespin and toe hits are only okay

The Cbs by comparison have a more pentrating flight almost too low in the short irons sometimes. Long irons a little more dificult to get up and the sweet spot is smaller it seems. Very compact looking and simple design.

The mp60s are more forgiving than the other two and let you get away with quite a bit w/o losing as much distance. A good bit softer feeling. Sometimes this is good, sometimes bad. A nice flush shot can be hard to tell what it is doing. Alot of days, I like the click of the J33s better, seems more solid. The mp60s wear more quickly in terms of dings, dents etc.

All three are fantastic irons, now that I have found some CBs in DG SL, they will probably replaced the mp60s as my gamers.

One other thing to consider if you are value oriented: Bstone equipment is silly cheap on ebay while Mizuno equipment goes for more than you can buy it from one of our sponsors. My Mp60s were hundreds more than the CBs and Discount Dan's beat every deal out there on the Mizuno. Just some cost info FWIW. The flipside is that if you are custom ordering new clubs be aware the j33s have no value retention at all.

Hope all this rambling helps
