Cally uPro Available at Woot today

Just saw that woot.com is offering a manufacture refurb Callaway uPro gps unit for 99.99 plus 5 for shipping. It has a 6 month warranty from Callaway. These deals only last 24 hours or until stock is sold out. I pulled the trigger and got one.

Wow, I wonder if Cally is dumping the uPro for the uPro Go? I got one last week from a post here from an Ebay vendor who had the refurbs listed for $89. He sold 364 units before closing the sale. I got one but won't get to open it until tomorrow birthday. I did sneak a peek at the box which was sealed. The box looks new and has a "refurbished" sticker on it. I wonder if Cally is dumping new ones and labeling them as refurbs?

Looks good, but outside of the touchscreen, nothing worth upgrading my original uPro.

Touch screen may or may not be a good thing. I have the Golf Guru 4 touch screen and I am tired of having to poke the screen 3 or 4 times each hole to get info.

I opened up my "refurbished" uPro today. Their is not a scratch on it. To me it looks new. One thing I liked immediately is the user replaceable lithium battery. The Neo and Golf Guru 4 I owned required sending it back to the company for a battery change. It is also very compact and light which walkers will appreciate. But, alas, 3" of snow and 1" of ice outside.

Have you ever owned a uPro? Sky Caddy would seem to have the worst customer service of most. No, I have never owned a Sky Caddy but two of my friends have them and both have complained about the customer service. I am not sure if uPro has the bugs you refer to but I will take a few bugs with great customer service over a company with sucky customer service regardless of the their product any day.

The one I ordered from woot came a couple of days ago. It came in a regular Callaway uPro retail box with a "Reconditioned" sticker on the front of the box. As for the unit itself, it does not have the Callaway logo on the gps and could really pass for "new". It's in that good of condition.
