Need reccomendation for NSB area courses

Hey everybody I am going to be visiting some family in the New Smyrna Beach area, I need some good facility suggestions!

 

Private, public, Resort, minature, doesn't matter!

 

Anywhere in a thirty mile radius

Family also has a place down there and I play several times a year when we go. Without a doubt the best value is the NSB muni right across from Blackbeard's on A1A. 4th of July weekend last year, my buddy and I went out at 7:15 for $30 unlimited play. Got 27 in the first day and 36 the second. Course is short and tight but in great shape. I heard from some playing partners a couple years ago that there was a several million dollar renovation done. Also ended up playing with a NFL referee for the first 18 on the second day. He "joined" for $800/year all he can play. Says he gets in 18/day on weekends during the offseason and 36/day on weekdays, all walking. Early Sunday morning there may have been 20 folks out there on the entire course.

Hammock Beach is the best bet. Pretty pricey, but oceanside course, and the conservatory course. whew...

Not sure if you have already been down but.....

NSB Muni: Cheap and its in great shape right now.
Cypress Head: Port Orange area, a little nicer than the muni for not much more
Venitian Bay: Haven't played it yet, but its very new and looks nice. around $60 I think to play
Walkabout: 40 mins south in Titusville area. VERY nice course.
Pelican Bay: North course is decent. Last I played a few months ago it was in very good shape
Spruce Creek: Haven't played it, but heard its very good.
