Tiger Woods gets the top spot back in this month's list. Who else makes the Bunker's Dozen?

It's hard to believe it's already August. Professional golfers from around the world will be finishing their respective seasons soon. The month of July was a good one for golf fans. Tiger Woods won his 11th major championship, then Corey Pavin won on the PGA Tour. How is that for diversity?



Michelle Wie continued her great play in LPGA Tour events. Wie is limited in the number of events she can play, but she has certainly made the most of her opportunities. Was Wie's solid July enough to give her the highest female ranking in the Bunker's Dozen? You will have to keep reading to find out. I hope you enjoy this month's list!

1Tiger Woods won the British Open for the third time of his career and jumped to first on the PGA Tour money list… hitting only one driver. Bomb and Gouge took the week off.


2Annika Sorenstam won the U.S. Women's Open in early July; the win was her 10th career major championship. She traded "smartass" texts with Tiger.


3Karrie Webb won her third LPGA Tour event of the season and returned to the top of the money list.


4Michelle Wie had fatigue issues at the John Deere Classic, but she finished T3, T5, and T2 in her three LPGA Tour starts in July.


5Trevor Immelman finally sealed the deal at Cog Hill to claim his first-career PGA Tour victory, fending off a resurgent Tiger Woods in the process.


6The Distance Debate continues after Woods and Corey Pavin won in back-to-back weeks, each hitting longer clubs into greens than their opponents. One by choice, one not.


7Chris DiMarco finished second to Tiger Woods in another major championship, but he put himself back on the Ryder Cup team in the process.


8Hoylake was roundly criticized before the British Open, but the course received nothing but praise once the major championship started.


9Brittany Lincicome defeated Michelle Wie, Lorena Ochoa, and Juli Inkster on her way to winning the Women's World Match Play Championship. Flash or substance?


10Jim Furyk continued his steady play last month by finishing T4 at Cog Hill and fourth at Hoylake; Furyk also moved up to second on the money list.


11Corey Pavin won the U.S. Bank Championship the last weekend of July; the win was Pavin's first in 10 years (and first since Tiger Woods joined the PGA Tour).


12FedEx Cup continues to get hammered in the media, most notably here at The Sand Trap. Does anyone think this thing is a good idea?


13Phil Mickelson didn't play well in July, so I'm sticking him in the unlucky 13th spot; the 18th hole at Winged Foot is still in our memory.
