I'm looking to purchase another one from GS but only "R" flex available. If i tip the "R" 1" and then butt trim will it play close to a Regular-Stiff ? My Driver SS is 101-104.

Wondering whether to take a shot with $16 deal, or rather pick another "S" from flea bay

You should be able to land between R and S. I'd do the math though and find out how much tip you need for your application, then just tip it as far as you safely can weather that's 1" or 2" or whatever. You probably can't get past an S starting with an R with this shaft as it's fairly butt soft.

Thanks. I plan to drop this in a 3W, so figuring 1" tipped, and 2.5" butt trim to play 42.5" 3W. Or better to go 2" tipped and 1.5" butt trim ?

The name of this shaft is pretty accurate. I'd call it a mid flight but it's pretty flat, lower spin. It depends weather you want to stay with a higher flight with more carry (less tipping) or get more roll out at the end of your flight (more tipping). Either way if you like with the standard V2 feel you probably won't go wrong either way.

FWIW, I tipped my X 2" to go in my JPX 18* and it's almost perfect. It feels like a flat X. Not firm or weak.

Golfsmith has the Tour Flight back on their website. Stiff flex only, .335 tip

There is a huge difference in the "tour" and "tour flight". I demo'd both a while back and compared the two, side by side. The "Tour" was too stiff for me. (112mph swing speed avg.) and thus left me with out the "feel" I like. I installed the "Tour flight" shaft in my Titleist 913 D2. 8.5. My launch angle was thru the roof with the YS-6, and the Diamana blue that came with it. With the V2 tour I get more carry and "roll out". Seems like most of the courses I find myself playing in South Carolina, with our Bermuda grass fairways, rough, and greens, just don't allow for much roll. I've seen "screaming worm burners" just run out about a hundred yards. I see the totally "foreign" roll these tour players get and wanted that for myself. The V2 "Tour Flight" gives me more of that "roll out" that tour players enjoy. Also, bear in mind, tour fairways are cut to about a 10 on the Stimpmeter. LOL! I liked this shaft so much that I bought 6 of them. So far, only installed the one in my driver. I'm satisfied with my fairway wood shafts. Great shaft!!!
