Any courses open in CT yet?

Are there any open course in Connecticut yet? Been itching to get out and play. All the snow is pretty much gone and it has been in the 40's and 50's the last two weeks.

 

Post any courses that are open and prices if you have any information.

I don't know about Con. but my buddies went out to cape cod last sunday and played the captains course for $40.

Shennecosset near/in Groton is open. I played Saturday with cart and the course was better than expected for March Golf.

we paid $40 a person with cart...but I think that's after bugging them since we didn't know the $25 was for walkers only. I think the current rate was $44 a person with cart.

Not bad. I can do $25. How was it with the wind coming off the sound? Chilly at all? Should be decent temperatures this week, just looking for somewhere to get out and play a couple.

It wasn't too bad actually. It obviously got colder as the day progressed but overall it wasn't to bad. We tee'd off at 130 but a light jacket and long sleeves did the trick. keep in mind that it's March Golf so it won't be perfect.

Not a problem. We are North Easterner's we are used to this! The rain today is helping, but it should be warm the next few days. Maybe I can get out there friday or saturday. I'm in Middletown, so it is a bit of a haul, but I will see if my dad is interested in playing on his day off...most likely not but I can always hope!

Crappy weather for a spring break I'd say. Wish we had some warm weather and open golf courses so I can get out and play!!

I played Shenny over spring break while I was home and the course was in good condition, especially for this time of year. It does get really chilly as soon as the sun starts going down near the water so I would try to tee off before noon.

Shennecosset, Laurel View, Lyman the player course are all open. There's a few more schedueled to open this week. Ctgolfer.com has a message board that has dates that other clubs are opening

Awesome thanks for posting this!! Laurel view is 10 minutes down the road from my school (Quinnipiac). I will definitely check out CTgolfer to see which courses are open.

Nice. Not a bad little nine hole place. Played there once my freshman year. Off to play some holes at Lyman Orchards which is down the road from my house. I will report back on how the conditions are!

Lyman Orchards Player course is open. $21 with a cart for 9 holes. Not sure about 18. In pretty good shape. Soggy in some spots obviously but very playable and today was a beautiful day!!

Its New England and this storm today is not even the bad one. The one later on in the week is suppose to actually leave snow on the ground.

I used to live about 20 mins from you and I drove down there back in the summer of 2006. Its a solid 2hr ride. The course is a challenge and a BEAR to walk if its bad weather. The day I played it was 95* AND humid, we walked. By the 14-15th hole I was in full heat stroke. I skipped the last 2 holes.

I am heading down to CT to play Twin Hills in Coventry with some guys during April school vacation week. Gonna be the 1st rd of the year. Its a FUN course to play with glass like greens.

I here that's a really nice place. Quite expensive as well. Definitely on my to play list for this year.
