In the Taylor Made Tour Van today

Joey/OB are so right, I know about the equipment but not a lot about the details. I know what I want & they ask me the questions, build the club, test it out & tell them if it works or not. I have never gona into detail, all I know is the loft I want & my SS is 120+, they ask me the questions on what I'm looking for & best try to match that. But if I've got something I like & I'm switching to a different driver, they spec it to exactly the last one. I don't know about the details & don't care, as long as my TM tour reps get me a club that works!

obagain, only 3 woods! thats all im required to keep in the bag besides wearing their hats, using their bag, & wear adidas :( ive put my woods against the retail, besides the custom options that are available to me & being able to get stuff before everyone else there is no difference. everyones TP stuff would be the SAME as mine if they had the option to have any shaft, have any head weight, & could open or close the face angles. the only difference in tour issue stuff comes when something will not be release like the VS2, IMO its gross anyways & hit it 1 round. but if you put a retail TP to a tour TP it goes no further, these no BETTER ti & who brought that rumor out is :lol: some good stuff & should call me to let me know how to aquire some. the difference is in the specs, not the product.

Can anyone tell the exactly what the difference is between the 510 tp and the 580xd tp? I know the 580 is larger, but not sure what the actual numbers are on it.

The r510 is 390cc & the r580 xd is 440cc.

I loved your info!!! Do you know if they are bending face angles on the tour van? I have a buddy who says they do. Want to know if he's full of it. If so, how? Thanks.

yes, they bend heads in the tour van & @TM for us. when i was at the test facilities in Carlsbad in febuary testing stuff for this season i watched em bend 3 drivers for me, 1 as open as 3*, this is not an easy process! the guys who work in the TM tour department can do anything i want! id be lost without them. they put the head in what looks like a box mold of the head cut in half, they put a towel over it so the dont scratch the paint & put it in a vise they have to hold it, heat up the hosel with a torch. it takes a lot of strength as with as much pressure they were putting on it i thought they were going to snap the hosel! after it is bent to the desired degree. when they are finished they use a wheel to sand the discoloration off the hosel from heating & reshaft it.
