7 Woods ?

I have never been a fan of 3 woods, I hit them well but I feel I have more shots with higher lofted fairway woods. I currently have an 18* Bridgestone in the bag as my only wood. I would like some feedback about 7 woods, more specifically the Hi-Bore fwy woods (shafts, weight, lenght, etc.). I am a loyal Titleist guy but their loft options seem very limited. I know people will recommend hybrids and I am open to that option as well. I have hit all of titleist's stuff and the new woods and hybrids are good but I still would like some help.

i started off with a 3/5/7 woods and took out the 3 iron and played only a 52/56 wedge, but i couldn't hit that good (or most would say now) so i took some lessons and practiced a bit, etc... What the result is, is basically at my 23 handicap level i'm not hitting any par 5's in 2, since getting the 3 wood, a good lie, the stars to align, the wind the right direction, and the tooth fairy showing up all at once, basically, i can't get there... so i bailed on the 5/7 wood and put a 19 degree rescue in for ~200 yard shots. I think i would look at yardages and courses i play and try to figure out where that club will help you, or practice with the club you planned on replacing, i guess you could try one cheap or something and see if it fits in. i think i am mumbling and not sure if any decent opinions or advice came across. good luck, i'd buy a used one and then you can go from there? peter

Adams doesn't pay big bucks to play their sticks, but a LOT of Champions tour guys play their sticks. Thier low profile heads are perfect for hitting it off the deck.

 

Me - I have a Adams Redline 7w head with a stifff GD YS 7 and love it. Plus the adams stuff is cheap on eBay. Get a cheap head and put the custom shaft you like - you will love it.

I play the Sonartec SS 2.5 7 wood and love it. I hit it much better than I do my 3 or 4 irons.

I have a TM 300 7 wood that I used to replace my 3 iron. It's a great club and soooo easy to hit. The only reason I'm not still playing it is because I picked up a BS J33 Airmuscle 3 iron that I hit dead straight. So the 7 wood is now in the back up bag.

I've been extremely pleased with the Callaway X series of woods. I've played the 3,5,7 and am thinking of getting the 9.

 

I guess it comes down to this: are you more comfortable swinging a wood or an iron? I personally prefer fairway woods and can even hit them taking half and three quarter swings. I can't hit a long iron consistantly enough to even keep them in my bag. If you hit your long irons OK but not the woods, then go try some hybrids. You'll like the feel of the swing better.

hibore fairway is the best thing since sliced bread. somewhere in inbetween a fairway and a hybrid..

i have never not had a 7 Wood in my bag. it is one club that i truely love. right now i have a Mizuno MP-001 7-Wood with a TT DG R300 shaft, but i will be buying a Cleveland Hi-Bore 22* with the stock Fujikura R-Flex shaft soon, and the Mizuno will go into my "back-up" bag.

I've got a few year old Wilson Deep Red Fat Shaft 7 wood, 21*, and it's a fantastic club. A little too much draw bias, but i've kept with it and the original Graffaloy shaft and i just can't bare to get rid of it.

I would say try a nike sq 7 wood with a v2 75 or maybe try a hybrid maybe a nickent dc or a taylormade rescue mid
