Nickent 6TX Hybrids

I was at Golf Galaxy a bit earlier today waiting on some irons I had being adjusted and was browsing. Kinda been in the market for a couple hybrids, and was looking at the various options.

Didn't really like much of what I saw, most were flat ugly. Then I came across the Nickent rack. The 6DX isn't a bad looking club, but the 6DT is a flat out nice looking club...very elegant lines...unlike most of the others that seem blocky. The only big name I think that can compete in looks is the Titliest 910h.

Anyway, didn't have time to hit any clubs, but was wondering if anybody had any experience with these. I'd always thought of Nickent as more of a "cheap" off brand...but these sure caught my eye. Curious how they stack up in quality & performance to the big boys.

I have a 2i 6DT. It is a rocket launcher. It feels incredibly solid and I find it very workable. The ball flight is something to behold as well; very penetrating and very impressive. I would recommend testing one out.

Don't know how they play but they are now a Golf Galaxy/Dick's brand.

Interesting factoid on the Nickent website, that Nickent were the most played hybrids on the Nationwide Tour from 2003-2008. A bit misleading though because that was all before Nickent went out of business.

The new Nickent hybrid looks nothing like the old ones (no wings, etc.). Dick's just bought the name, and I doubt any of the old Nickent people are involved in the new company so I don't think it is honest for the "new" Nickent to point out the successes of the old Nickent as a reason to buy the new Nickents.

I like my 5Dx, but it does not get much playing time because I prefer my FT-iz hybrids, but still think the old Nickents were excellent.

As mentioned in one of the posts above, they just couldn't keep up with the big boys in marketing. I wouldn't consider their products "cheap" or poorly made at all. I played a Nickent Black 4DX T9* driver for two years that was longer and lower spinning than anything else for me at the time.
