Nova Range/Practice facility's

Need help finding a permanent area.

Hi, recently the course I belong to (generals ridge) has been fiddling with the membership and at this point has no membership options, which means no unlimited range access.

Considering I Spend at least as much time on the range as I do on the course, I want to practice at a good facility.

The biggest problem for me is finding a place where there is grass, and a decently priced unlimited range pass.


I'm in Manassas, so preferably it needs to be within 10 miles of the city and NEEDS, as I said above to have an unlimited pass.

Having a good shortgame practice area would be strongly preferred as well.

looks like a nice place, no idea if there is a yearly/unlimited membership though.

Broad Run is probably one of your best choices close to Manassas. They usually have grass tees open and there is a great short game area in the back where you often can practice alone...especially on weekdays.

I hate broad run. They have a nice short game area, but the range everytime I go the mats are open and not the grass. When the grass tees are open it is some kind of shortly mowed crabb grass/fescue type deal and there is nothing but sand underneath. I just go to Bristow Manor as they have a nice all grass tee range and some area for short game. But for you check out in Warrenton off 29 and Fairfax off Braddock. Warrenton has a nice Golf center right across from SS saab dealer and it has a good mix of short game, putting and everything in between. Also does fittings. The VA golf center off braddock has a huge double decker range and also has a par 3 attached to it. They also have a short game area. If you are not into driving about 20 or so minutes to those, either do bristow or broad run.

I'm going to get a membership to old hickory...but in the meantime I've been practicing at broad run

I can say I really hate the grass they have, its not fairway grass. Really low quality however the range is pretty good and nice to be able to practice at night. The short game area is okay at best, the bunkers are unplayable.

Bubbagump said it. Bristow Manor is the only course that I know about in the NOVA are that has grass on their range and actually use it. The other place I know about it the Gauntlet but thats in Fredricksburg.
