MacGregor Tourneys from what year?

Also, what does the RL3MT stand for that is stamped on the back?

They look like the 1967 models at [url="http://www.ironfinder.com/Individual-Irons/macgregor/"]Iron Finder[/url], but none of them has RL3MT on them.

I agree that they appear to be the 67's but would love to know what the RL3MT denotes.
Anyone have any idea?

I have something from the MacGregor Golf Club Catalogue produced by Jim Kaplan. On page pages 3 & 4 from the year 1967(Professional) section I find a reference to a RL3MTH irons. I beleive the "H" is the designation for the "Rubber Grip" and the "T" is for leather. The specs for the irons & woods are on the other page. The irons are described as "MT Short Length Clubs" with the 2 iron being 38" in length. If you would like more info in the form of two scanned pages just let me know - Max [/size]

These are the '67 MacGregor Tourney Irons. They were the high end MacGregor golf clubs sold in Sporting Goods stores.

Our dad had a set like these- His had leather grips with gold thread and Tourney ProPel 2 shafts.

The MacGregor Tourney Persimmon woods had a two tone light/dark brown color, and with butterfly soleplates, and 5 screw aluminum inserts.

Pretty sure the numeral (in this case, '3') indicates shaft flex.

Would that make them Regular Flex then?

Are any of the shaft bands readable? On some MacGregor models, it described the flex.

Just dug my old Macs out to look amd mine have MT Tourney back and MTR2 on bottom back toward hosel. I do know they were Stiff flex. Need new grips....and your pics are great TY
