Nike Storm Fit Elite Rain Suit






Pros

Great styling and nice feel. I must be a good fit for Nike threads, because there's no issues for me. It's not too tight (doesn't restrict the swing) and not too loose (no bunching). The performance in the rain is awesome too.

Cons

For me, no performance related issues. I had actually moved away a bit from Nike outerwear in the last year or so, but this is enough to bring me back. I'm reaching a bit here, but some people might have a problem with only two color choices (blue or black).

Bottom Line

Great product. If I had to buy them at full retail, I might look at other brands also, but they are still great nonetheless. I have a glut of rain jackets and have worn nearly everything (Proquip, FJ, ZR, Sunice, Columbia, Rainflex) and for me, this is comparable to any of the higher end goretex offerings.

Review

The Storm-Fit Elite rainsuit definitely does it's job! I have several rainy and/or windy rounds under my belt and I'm pleased with their performance. I don't have a single, real-world complaint. The jacket and pants kept me dry as a bone. There's really nothing to add to that. They're good.

On a side note, I played in Pullman, WA a few weeks ago and the rainpants had to do double duty keeping me dry watching the WSU/ASU game... in the snow. They were surprisingly and thankfully warm, which is generally a must here. Originally that wasn't supposed to be my litmus test for the suit, but it passed with flying colors.

We don't get the balmy rain storms here very often so I can't speak to the breathability of the jacket or pants.

For some people, price might be an issue. I think full retail for the full storm-fit elite suit is $460+ (still comparable to other full suits though). That might be steep for a lot of people. I personally can't put a price on good raingear living in Oregon where there is a 50% chance of rain. Every. Single. Day.

Looks

Again, I love the styling. Not much to say here - apparel is Nike's bread and butter and they rarely miss the boat on styling. Plus for putting belt loops on the pants... doesn't really affect me, but never quite understood why all pants don't have them.

Performance

This is tough to screw up - it works or it doesn't. It's comfortable and you stay dry. The windproofing is great too.

Feel

It's a perfect fit for me and I appreciate the extra give with the jacket during my swing with the 4-way stretch. Pretty light too.

Overall Bottom Line

It's a winner. This is my go to jacket when it's wet (or windy) here in Oregon. I would recommend checking out the elite line from Nike, despite whatever brand loyalties you may have.

I''ve got last years Nike Storm Fit Elite rainjacket and pants, the one with the angled pin stripe.

I'll echo what you said about the pros of the jacket and pants. I really like it alot and have really no issues. I love the fact that it has a unlimited warranty for waterproofing and that it's not really thick or bulky or a hard shell type material.

I'm not really a Nike guy and I do have some ZR stuff, but when the rain comes I always go with the Elite ensemble. I've experienced golf in a torrential downpour at my club's recent member-guest, where they actually called the tourney after 8 holes and told everyone to come in cuz the course was unplayable but I was totally dry. So happy with the Elite's performance. What I didn't like was the price. Waaaay too expensive and I got somewhat of a deal on mine, but not a great one. However, when it's pouring rain and you're dry, it's priceless isn't it?
