Club Cameron Rant

Ok,

So, I've been a member of Club Cameron from the beginning. I get an email to renew my membership and then when I follow the link, nothing is in stock. They're not expecting kits for another 2-3 weeks so, if anything limited comes out, I'm SOL. This is the 2nd or 3rd year that they've had this issue. I really can't believe that:

1) I'm still trying to sign up

2) They haven't figured it out yet.

Rant off...

I gave up on CC a couple years ago and then decided to renew my membership last year so I could try and get a bag. I have an order go through for a bag, and then get an email saying sorry, no bag for you but we did charge your card for $600. I canceled the membership again because I was so mad over that deal.

To add insult to injury, I send a putter in for refinishing earlier in the year. It had two weight plugs installed in the bumpers. They sent me an email saying they would not refinish it because of the weights. I checked to submission rules for restoration and there was no mention of not refinishing a putter with changes to it. They added that rule now because of this. So I am out the shipping to the Studio and then they wanted to charge me $20 to send it back. They dropped it to $10 after a lot of complaining and shipped it back to me in a FexEx envelope. The putter got beat up during the shipping because they did not package it properly. So now I am out $20 and the putter head is all beat up. I think that CC and the Studio is a joke full of high price trinkets for Scotty's little buddies.

Stepping off my soapbox................. :(

It was a raffle. You had to be chosen in order to receive a bag.

ya, the tour staff cameron bags, went out of stock within 20 mins .

Not the first time. The first set of bags, red and orange if I remember correctly, were not sold via raffle. Instead, what happened was that the Studio servers could not handle all orders simultaneously, so it looked like you purchased one and had your credit card charged. It happened to me, too. The biggest mistake was notifying the CC members ahead of time, so there were a few thousand members sitting at their computers at noon EST waiting for the bags to be released.

They went back and "sold" the bags to the first 500 customers on a first come, first served basis via order number. If you order number was one of the first 500, you got a bag. If not, you got an apology email from the Studio Store explaining the server issues, credit card refunds, etc. It only took a day or two for me to receive a credit back to my card.

The CC membership is well worth the $93 in that you get at least that much stuff in the members kit. Sure, Scotty dictates exactly what he will do in "customizing" a putter. I don't see how he could handle individual customizations otherwise as the volume / scope of work would be too great. If he offered any type of stamp, any type of finish, etc., then it would take 140 days, not 40 days, to get your putter back.

Sorry guys,

I stand corrected. The whole thing was a fiasco...
