How to turn a scotty to a belly

anyone help???

Anyone have any experiences with turning a 35 inch Scotty into a Belly putter, either through the Customer shop OR on your own OR another source (mannkrafted, BOS etc....)?

I know the process of turning a short putter into a belly (more weight and new shaft) but I am wanting to save a few bucks and, I'm sorry but 45 for a re-shaft through the shop is rediculous when they can be had for like 12 bucks....

Also, do you need to hone out the hosel on a Scotty Studio Select to .370 for the belly shaft?

Also, aside from the customshop where can you get heavy weights?

Any other experiences or info would be great!!

What model is it? It will be tougher to do a good conversion with a double bend neck

Have u tried putting in a lightweight steel xstiff iron shaft that will counter some weight issues and eliminate the need to drill on a cameron

To bore it out, but a bit from golfworks and turn it by hand. I prefer to turn by hand as it gives you more control than a power tool. It's essentially a .370 reaming bit.

I turned a select into a belly. I used a 6.5 rifle 8 iron shaft, 30 gram weights from ebay (customshop911, and they are nice), winn grip, and a 2 inch shaft extension.

I used a .355 shaft incase I wanted to return the putter to stock.

Also, you will want to run the tape all the way to the mouth of the grip. The winns are quite wide at the bottom so I used 2 layers of tape.

So by reshafting it with the rifle shaft, does it up the weight? I am just wondering if it is necessary to do a reshaft. By adding 30 gram weights enough to achieve a head weight of 400, and more specifically in a Newport 2?

I used the rifle shaft because I wanted a stiffer shaft than the Scotty shaft. I think the stiffness difference is small and you would probably be ok without a new shaft. The weight of the shafts is about the same.

After I put the weights in I added a strip of high density lead tape to the sole. That got the head to 396 grams.
