Sam Snead played a pull fade.

I don't think anyone "plays" a pull draw. They more likely fight their way around the course with one,
Exactly. The left to left is the ugliest, most uncontrollable shot in golf.
Believe me, I should know.

I see a gap. There definitely is a gap.

I think that all the players mentioned so far still start the ball on a line slightly right of a line that runs parallel to their feet hips and shoulder lines or at worst parallel to those lines, and it draws back from there, so it would still be a simple draw or a push draw.

I see a gap. There definitely is a gap.

Lets be honest here....You wanna know who plays big draws ....not who plays pull draws...thats like saying .....does anyone on tour play a push slice?
no, I would have said pull-hook, if thats what I meant. If a pull fade can win major championships, so can a pull draw. i believe Palmer was, and Snead too. Just looking for more examples to explore this ball flight

I don't think we are following you. The way I see it, a pull-fade starts left, and fades back to the target. A pull-draw would start left and move further left away from the target, assuming RH player. A pull-draw doesn't sound like a recipe for success, unless the player lines up way right...

Kev, thats what I'm looking for, no different than a push fade, right? And that would be the most acclaimed with Jack and Hogan having 27 total. to get to the point,(not that Im looking for majors! maybe a club championship) but I THINK my body mechanics may be more naturally set up for a pull, and my release is a draw, shouldn't I just go with it? Ithink it would be good inj the wind?

Gotcha,

Then I would say Billy Casper may fit your profile, at least when playing the Champions Tour. I've never watched another pro set up so far right and sling it!

A push fade is not really the same as a pull draw. On paper they are but the ball doesn't act the same way in practice. So many guys play a push fade we could go on forever. Nicklaus, Trevino, Couples etc etc. As noted in this thread the other way is not very common.

It does seem a trend now on tour to get the club moving more left at impact... A fade is just easier to control. A terrible shot may go 25 - 30 yards offline but a hook can go a mile offline.

Phil Mickelson... his misses are pull-draws. You can pretty much bomb it if you can controll the pull-draw, because of the roll you get. 2010 US Open at Pebble Beach on the 2nd hole (final round), I was there that day and was watching his drive in the DTL view, and I noticed he was aiming at the left rough. He then swung it and had this crushing pull-draw that was measured at 380 yards.

Aimed left and hit a pull draw?

Thanks Kev, forgot about him, one of the most underrated players of all time. My wife's grandfather watched all the greats play in person, he said casper would start the ball way over the trees and hook it back. He couldn't believe how much curve he put on every shot. I saw a lady on the Euro tour win with a pull draw a couple of years ago. I know its not the best flight, but i think it may be my most natural given my body/build. Spencer Levin is pull draw too, right?

Not sure about Levin, I haven't studied him. I'll tell you what though, follow your instincts. One of my favorite golf quotes came from Butch Harmon:

"Never take away something a student does naturally."

Go with your natural ball flight, I've seen many players ruined, including yours truly, by following others advise as to what would be "optimal."

Mr. Casper has always been one of my favorites too. Never technical, never somebodies model, just played the game and turned in low numbers.

trying to clear this up to the op... is this what you would consider a pull draw..?.. a player lines up aiming at the far right of the fairway. swings the ball starts down the middle of the fairway and then draws left ... to me thats a pull draw...

for a right handed player..

i am with kevin , if you can aim your natural ball and know where its going , imo that is a golf swing that works

You can also interpret it as one who lines up right, starts it left of his baseline, but right of the intended target, and draws it back to center...

My first reaction was the same interpretation as yours, once I figured out that some play from the other side. :-)
