Superio shafts

Hi

Tried the Superio Mugio for the first time the other day. Nice shaft! Does anyone know anything about this shaft and the company? It seems to be japanese or is it from the USA?

there was a lot of conjecture about these a while back, they claimed to be japanese but wernt, think thye were made in thailand or malaysia form memory, check tourspec there was a big thread on them.

Thanks! Well, difficult to say from the discussion on tourspec. But are the shafts any good? It would be great to get some more info.

[size="1"]Last summer i did a outdoor trackman session testing a bunch of great shafts (kaili, fire express, roddio wa, rombax z) all shafts in the 60g sx/x area, using a nakashima ntec 10.5 head. [/size]
[size="1"]With the superio i got the best overall numbers, lowest spinn ( a´2200) highest ballspeed (167) and if not by much just a couple yards longer than the "runner up" fire express. Its a great feeling shaft that for me gave a mid boring trajectory w good controll and plenty roll. [/size]
[size="1"]The Nakashima/ Superio combo was just a tad longer than my epon af 102 8.5/ crazy 50 7,7 combo ( the epon / crazy is silly straight though)[/size]
[size="1"]Bought the superio and put if in a crazy 435 II head and i couldnt be happier. I also have superio 36fw in my 3 wood (J Bea) and hybrid (vega). Im considering their new 50t prototype aswell, maybe put it in a ntec. [/size]

Thanks! Good to hear some thoughts from someone who has played Superio shafts. I am not in the market for a driver shaft but I got good Trackman numbers from the Mugio fairway. New FW is on the way!

I play a Superio shaft in my 3-wood, the shaft specially made for FW actually, and it's really really good. The best FW shaft I have hit so far. Very stable and has great feel.
And mine actually says "made in japan" on it, and it also has the "S" symbol om it. The earlier models where 50T for driver shafts and 36T for the FW and had MIJ written on them.
Later models dont have MIJ written on them, but they come straight from Mamiya Op in Mamiya boxes and had the Mamiya stickers on them at the butt end. My local club builder showed me this, boxes and all, and I guess this means they are now made by Mamiya in Bangladesh where they have their facility. They now use 80T graphite, so I guess they buy the material in Japan and have the shafts rolled in Bangladesh these days.

i stil l have not seen a superio shaft in japan on any thing and they arnt sold by shops here
which leads me to think they arnt MIJ which makes NO oddswhat so ever if they are good ,they are good

just a follow up on this i was in my clubbuilders lat night,
hes got al lthe shafts there are in jp
i asked him about superio
he asked me who makes them?
hes never heard of them neve rseen one and couldnt find any bio on them in his "bibles"
id say they arnt japanese.

btw...,
i also saw the new NGS offerings
they look mighty good spec wise, the graphics look TOILET,
such a shame.
have to get one regardless
