Fox Hopyard

Anyone have any info on this course? I'm playing it for the first time Saturday...Anyone play it since it opened this season?

I believe it just opened this week, so no, I haven't gotten out there yet. I live in the neighborhood, so I'd guess the fairways are still dormant.

Very fair course, generally large landing areas for your tee shots, although driver isn't always the play off the tee. Some forced carries off the tee, but as long as you're playing the correct tee box, you should be okay. Greens are large and undulating, not alot of straight putts. Some areas for risk reward.

[url="http://www.golfthefox.com/hopyard/hopyardno7.html"]Fox Hopyard Number 7[/url] is really the only blind tee shot, best play is to aim towards the 150 yard marker, but beware, the fairway behind and to the left of that marker runs into trouble quick. Of course, if you can hit a big long draw with your driver, I guess you could play it that way too, but since I don't have that shot, I have no idea how far you'd need to go to carry the junk.


Holes 2 & 3 play uphill, 4 & 5 back down the hill, but relatively flat the rest of the way. Not a killer to walk.

Good practice area, driving range, large, undulating practice green, bunker. Nice restaurant for after the round too. Killer club sandwich and back-nine burger.

I've played there a few times and agree with geoangus. It's actually my favorite course in terms of layout in the state, at least out of those I've played. The weather looks great for this weekend too. Post on the condition if you remember. Have fun!

Could not have been more impressed with the course and condition. I was coming from Long Island and meeting a friend who was coming from Boston. It, obviously, was a little brown due to the time of the season, however, the course could not have been in better shape considering. All tee boxes and greens were open and the green were running smoothly (compared to Lyman Orchards last week). I def. got $75 worth and would def. look forward to going back there if the price is right.

Awesome. You may have convinced me to try and get out there before the spring aeration.

I was thinking similarly, but I have so much time off the next few weeks I can't do it. Damn the luck... lol

It's also my favorite course I have played in the state so far. I played there last november and really enjoyed it. Can't wait to get back out there this year.
