Grip got way to strong

I have gotten down to a 4hcp this year, and I think I just realized I am not going to get ay better the way I am now. I have let my grip get way to strong, to the point where I can see all 4 knuckles on my left hand at address. As you might guess, when my timing is not on, my ball striking is poor and I hit hooks off the map. I am done with this life and the frustration it brings. I am starting over and getting back to a neutral (2 knuckles visbile on left hand). It feels just crazy to hold it like this, but I hit some balls on the range and I can hit it like this. Some shots even felt really good. I think this is the only way to get better, but I know it is going to get worse. Anyone else undergone this change?

I actually went the other way. I used to have a really weak grip and somehow hit a consistent draw and when I ripped at it, it didn't go left. It got to the point where I was casting it to square up the clubface. I spent a solid 2 weeks trying to get used to it, but it seemed I had a more agressive swing through impact with the weaker grip. For some reason I wouldn't let myself square up the clubhead through impact, so I'd actually hit big block cuts with the strong grip.

 

I sorta gave up on trying to get it stronger, then during a tourney (2 months later), my left hand just felt really weird on the club and I wasn't paying attention to how I was forcing it on the club. Turns out, I had strenghtened it, and could see 3 knuckles. Have no idea how it happened but it's still like that today, 16 months later.
