2006 Nationwide Tour Shaft Numbers!

Of the top 22 that earned their PGA Tour Cards- 20 of them play True Temper iron shafts (4 of those are Royal Precision).

True Temper wood shafts are in the bags of 8 of these top 22 players.

 

True Temper irons shafts won 29 of 31 Nationwide events (7 include RP).

 

True Temper wood/hybrid shafts were in 9 bags of the 31 winners with ProLaunch Red leading ALL shafts with 4 wins.

Very impressive numbers, to say the least. I thought that younger up and coming players might be more likely to play newer types of shafts. Any idea how many are playing S400 or X100 shafts versus Black Gold or newer designs?

I asked TT.

 

Of the 29 wins, 17 were with Dynamic Gold.

 

6 were X100 and 5 were S400. Not sure on the others. They also said that these guys don't really change irons shafts much.

pretty easy for TT to dominate when they own royal presiscion too.

 

all the S300, S400, X100, Black gold, Tour Concepts, rifles and Project X are the same company -_-

 

always surprises me how many pro's use Aldila shatfs though. My experience with them hasn't been too good.

I would agree with the comment above about Aldila, until I got my hands on a tour issue NV.

From my experience awhile back there was quite a range in the quality/performance of Aldila shafts. They did have some solid models derived from G-Loomis when they bought them out, and the NV, from my very limited experience, is also pretty good.
