Tour Players shaft choice

Typ of shafts in there irons?

Anyone have information on what typ of shafts the tour players use in there irons....like how many use the DG Light for example vs DG Standard.
If people know in this forum ..please post a player and what shaft they use and swingweight if you know.

I bet someone will come up with something for you. I can say this with much assuredness... the VAST majority of tour guys use good old Dynamic Gold X100. ;)

I would agree but the black gold revolution has started. There seem to be alot of Project X's too

Perhaps, but I'll wager that the Darrell Survey would show you that the "revolution" is mostly marketing. Not that the shafts aren't the ticket... just that most tour guys grew up with DG and they stay with it. Period. ;)

What's the difference between the X100's and S300's?

X 100 is stiffer. The difference, I believe, between S300 and S400 is really weight -- the 400 is slightly heavier than the S300.

They have S100-S600 (600 is stiffer)

Then goe to X100, X200 etc

X 100 keeps the ball down, from ballooning on them with their strong clubhead speed. Stiffer, better control, but they still get fell out of an X100. An average player would hit the ball too low with the X100 and get no feel from the irons.

You are right on the Black Gold's, no "revolution" to speak of as yet........BUT, Project X's on the other hand, a bag check for the TOP 150 players, shows A LOT of them in play.

X100 still "the man", Furyk and Singh with Apollo, but Project X is getting a lot closer than one would imagine to the mighty X100. :stop:

i think the days of the s100 and s500 are over>used to be available in taper tip.maybe tighter manufacturing helpd keep them in th 200-400 catagory.

tx guys as i train touring pros i see some light shafts (dg x100 light) on tour over here(ET) more than before... will some players over in the states use it as well?

The great thing about the steel shaft competition is that True Temper wins whether they're playing DG, DG Black, or any Rifles since they own Royal Precision now. I think that's too bad that it happened since competition by golf manufacturers is good for all of us. I also think that eventually graphite is going to creep into the irons and eventually take over those. It will take a while but eventually it will happen.

Agreed. Rifles and Project X also popular.... Wish i'd bought shares in true Temper...

Furyk and Singh must get nervous when they play from behind a tree... Their Hump shafts are no longer available... I think I've got a Hump shaft or two knocking about in my club store... eBay? Offer it to Vijay as a Buy It Now? (cool)

I've got humps in my irons and wedges and you can them from Hireko golf now. They bought Apollo out not to long ago.
