right i got a scotty cameron newport with Teryllium insert i must say i brought it for a bargain at just £30. i must say its not in great condition starting to rust and its lost all of its original black finsh and is now a dull silver/grey! i am thinking of gettin it restored by the scotty custom shop!! i had a look and its gonna cost me bout £180-£200 what do you guys think deal or no deal????

I think it depends on wy you want it restored. You can probably find a restored, mint shape Newport TEI3 for less than what it will cost you to restore that one. However, if you want to customize it and have it certified by Scotty then sur eit is worth it. To restore a beat up Cameron by Scotty should cost between $130-$200 depending on grip, headcover, stamps, etc.. The price you quote above seems really high. Is there a lot of shipping and customs tax in that figure?

yeh thats looks awsoem yeh they put a fiar amount of tax etc on it, do you have any pics of your putter vefore you sent it away?????

At the custom shop a tei3 restore runs $170'ish just for the refinish, add to that 60 for stamps and wotnot and 65 for return shipping. You may want to consider www.putterplating.com he offers much more reasonable shipping and is much cheaper than the custom shop. Check his work on the site.

I may be wrong, but last I checked Scotty's Custom Shop was only dealing with putters in the US. May have changed now, They agreed if I sent the putter from the UK they would send it to an address of my choice in the US for me to collect, as I was in the states earlier in the year. I geuss if you knew someone over there you could have it delivered to them but your postage will be very expensive, and you may get stitched with customs. I decided not to go for it. I do know that you can get putters re-finished at Titleist UK through a local dealer for around £80-90. Hope this helps.

No way could I justify sending it to the SC custom shop especially from the UK. The total for the gun blue kit was about 15 bucks, stuck a new Winn grip on for about 4 bucks, and had about 200 bucks worth of fun doing it...not as perfect as the custom shop but I wasn't expecting it to. In fact, having it done myself I am more likely to take it on the course. After the custom shop they look too good to play with...
