Scratch SB-1 irons info.

Not sure if this goes into the Non-US Market or not since they are made in both places so please move it to the appropriate place if needed.

 

I just bought a set of the SB-1's used with the Nippon Super Peening Blue Stiff shaft and found they frequent out at 7.8 (if that makes sense). Too stiff for me. I do have a set of CFS stiff shafts that I can have installed with a frequency of 5.8. Just curious to see if anyone has had any experiance with these shafts other than with Ping head. I am thinking the combo of the SB-1's head and the CFS shaft should produce a mid to high flight since the heads have virtually no offset.

 

The more I learn about these heads, the more excited I am. If you game these, please give me your honest thoughts.

 

By the way, Patrick from Scratch is a good guy to deal with. Part of why I love Ping is due to their customer service. If Patrick is an example of their customer service, then the Scratch company should be top notch.

The SP Blues normally do not frequency to 7.8, maybe they have been hard stepped and maybe even hard stepped twice. The SP Blue is the lowest launching shaft I have ever tried. Maybe measure the distance from the hosel to the first step and someone with more knowledge could tell you if they are straight in or stepped. The heads are great and my experience with Patrick has been the same.
