Little help please Miura limited

Recommended Posts

Has anyone played the Miura Limited Forged Black Blade Irons. Just want some feedback if anyone plays or has played these. Thanks in advance. I want to pull the trigger but have no option to try them. I currently play 712 mbs.

I play them and I like them.

Here's the thing: I couldn't tell a bit of difference between the regular TB and the Black TB. I went with the black because it was a little different.

I worked with the Baby Blades and TBs on the range prior to making my purchase and both were excellent - Utlimately I went with the TB because I just felt like the BBs were too small - especially when you got below a mid-iron.

The only downside is that if you leave a little bit of moisture on the club.....rust spots show up the next morning.

Thanks for the feed back, I used the search option (who knew). I read that you can have them blackened or painted again if it gets bad. Would this process affect the performance? Not talking about a can of spray paint but if you sent them out to a club builder. Thanks again

You can get some black oxide from Caswells and go thru the entire process of stripping, dipping and re-painting (fill in)...then reassembling your clubs. I haven't done it yet but there is a Miura guy here on the site that assures me they will come out looking brand new.

I thought about it this winter and decided it was too much hassle.

A lot of guys would have you believe that there is some big difference between the black and regular.....they felt identical to me.

The black wears off the face with use.

If you want to re-finish them with the Caswell's black oxide, there is no need to do any dis-assembly at all....just make sure the heads are clean and dip them into the oxide bath with the shafts still on the heads. The oxide bath has no affect on the ferrules or shafts or paint fill..........just leave them in the bath for about 5-10 minutes them rinse them and re-seal the finish......I use WD 40 with a light spray and them wipe them down..........Good to go :)
I have done my black wedges over 5 times and the Limited Forged irons 3 times so far.....Just re-shafted my irons with NS Pro shafts and them re-blacked them after the assembly was done.......The black oxide does NOT affect the paint fill in the least. :):)

That's good to know and may change my outlook. When I saw the pictures in the thread about this the heads were removed and sitting down in a bucket and that just looked like way too much work. I just assumed that the black oxide was gonna mess up something.

They look good black but I'm pretty sure the business of re coloring the clubs will get old fairly quickly.

Yeah....I just hate wasting 5 minutes a couple of times a season.....I keep a gallon ice cream bucket of the oxide bath on my work bench and when the clubs need re-blacking I just stand them in there for 3-5 minutes and they come out black again....rinse them and give 'em a squirt of WD 40....back in the bag and ready to go....I know that is really complicated and time consuming BUT I think it is worth the immense effort!!! :cheesy:

5 minutes? I was thinking about it....but if it's gonna take that much time- my schedule is pretty tight. Maybe after the golf season.

I've got a couple of raw wedges that I coated with some rust converter giving them a whitish grey color that looks pretty good to my eye and lasts a couple of rounds before needing another application that does not even take a couple of minuits to apply and rinse off. Fact is, even that gets old and these days I let the coat wear off and settle for the natural patina. Fact is, I just don't want to do more than just keeping my clubs clean and ready for the next game. I certainly don't want to spend $ 2,000 for a set of irons that I have to constantly recolor.

you don't have to recolor them...
[/quote]

I also do not like seeing my clubs change their appearance all that quickly, which is why I have a preference for raw wedges. Any changes to their appearance are due to wear and battle damage, nothing so silly as the color or coating wearing off. To my mind it's just an accelerated form of automatic obsolescence.

Obviously I need not recolor, however I would have to live with the sight of these clubs showing use and wear at that very quick pace. If you can live with that, more power to you. I'll pass.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
