OK, granted they're not a true "players" club or fresh off the Titleist production line, but does anyone have any comments on these irons.

The reason I'm asking is that I have a set sitting in my office that I just picked up for $200. I figured that I couldn't go wrong either way since it's looks like they've never been hit.

Lemme know your thoughts.

Sakman $200? Good deal considering I just sold a set for $425. I played these clubs for 5-6 rounds and went back to Mizuno MP-30's, no comparision in the two as far as feel. Mizuno hands down (probably due to the softer material of the Miz) Looked alot clunkier that the 30's. IMO

Yeah, when I saw the price tag I jumped all over it. Unbelieveable.

I'm sure you're right about the feel. I was playing the MP-37's and with solid contact the ball felt like butter coming off the face.

$200 is a ridiculous price for them. Heckuva steal!

I previously had a set of 704 with Project X 6.5's. I liked the look of the head. Very forgiving looking which gave me the confidence to hit the crap out of them without any worrying. The toplines were a little thick but no where near the Callaway's I had four sets before.

Impact wise, I found them to be not the softest of irons. I was actually a little surprised to find them a bit "clicky" and unless pured, not very appealing.

Length was excellent. It may have been the Project X's I had in them, but they were very long. I think the combination worked well with the 704 generating a higher ball flight and the Project X's keeping it from ballooning. Even on miss-hits, the length was very good.

Good luck with your set...again...great steal!

I have had my set for about a year and are very happy with them. they are long ,easy to hit and very accurate. they may not have the best feel to them but for me I can work them both ways and get very nice distance control. to the true purist they may not be what is expected to be but if you can get past the look they are very solid, just not flashy.

the 704's get a bad rap for their feel, but overall these are a pretty solid club. i've been dogging and complaining about my 704s for a while, but the more i use them, the more i find that these are a good club, with a decent amount of forgiveness... i also like the fact that they launch a little higher in the long irons from 2-4... the topline and club itself are a bit thick, but at address, it's not much different than a titleist 670... feel-wise, it's a bit clickier than titleist blades, but probably due to its stainless steel construction... when struck right on the sweet spot, you can really feel/hear the softness of the club... it also has a nice leading edge, but i wish it was a little sharper.. i think if you liked the old dci line, you will feel comfortable w/the 704s... not my favorite club, but a decent performer... definitely a great buy for $200!

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
