12.7* launch, 150 smash, just a shade under 2800 spin, +1.8 AoA. Too bad my swing speed is only 92 mph. Obviously the swing speed is not much to brag about but what should my spin be?

Good/bad?

What is your current driver loft?

IMO, launch could be a little higher, spin is not bad. Seems it's always easier for people to increase spin if they need it than trying to reduce spin when they have too much.

Were you hitting outside? And if so, did you like the look of the ball flight?

I play a 10.5* Ping k15 with Ping reg shaft and it was my club that I was hitting. My club path was inside, out and back inside. I do not recall the readings but they were good.

Yes, I was hitting in a bay that opened up to the range. The actual ball flight matched what Flight Scope was indicating. I do not remember the spin axis numbers. Most were straight to a draw. On one or two I had a slightly closed club face at impact in which the ball started left and faded a touch right. All in play.

What kind of distance gain would I expect with a fitting driver that increased the spin and launch as I don't guess my swing speed is going to increase by much?

Well I would say, your numbers are pretty good. And if you like the ball flight, then stay with it. However, as another poster said, if you play in less windy conditions most of the time, then raising the launch angle a touch, and keeping that spin rate, may give you another few yards of carry. I play in Scotland, so for me personally, I do not want a 13*-14* launch angle, it doesn't suit my eye, as I know that I will be Gorse hunting more often than not, because the wind up here will take it to all corners, so I am quite happy to give up a few yards of carry with a 11-11.5* launch angle, to retain and keep a bit more control in the wind over here. I know the ball flight that suits the conditions for me over here, and launching the ball at 14* is not it. But of course, if you don't play in those conditions, then raising that launch angle a tad, may give you a few more yards carry, and may suit you fine.

I wouldn't say you "need" to increase spin. I would expect it to come up however based on a higher launch using a greater loft on the driver, all else being equal.

You already look pretty close to your max without trying to make adjustments to your swing. If you were to really nit-pick, a .5-1* loft increase would pick up your launch a little bit, and spin would maybe come up just a hair as well. Somthing around a 13-14* with anything under 3K on spin would pretty much max you out for what you have. But, it's probably not going to be worth the price of a new driver either for those "few" extra yards.

For what you have, your swing is pretty "solid" to be honest.

Just to clarify. This was with my club (ping k15 in 10.5* with reg shaft) and with someone I have known for almost 20 yrs and not someone trying to sell me a new driver. As a matter of fact, I hit no other drivers to compare.

I was hitting in a bay that opens up to an outdoor range so i could visual verify flight compared to flight scope.

I hit off a mat. It was not on a rubber tee but not my normal tee but it was similar size and shape to a normal tee. I was using range balls.

Smash factor ranged from 1.48 - 1.51.

Carry and distance seemed slightly less than my normal swings on the course in which I am playing well. I believe my carry can be around 240 on good days as I play a course in which GPS tells me it is 230 to carry the bunker. When I hit it well, I usually carry the bunker.

The best news is that I worked fairly hard to get rid of my over the top swing and it appears I am on my way to eliminating that issue. My swing speed with a 7 iron was 83 mph with a slightly closed face at impact. It appears that my turn stalls on the downswing so I will now be working to maintain my swing path and work on my finish. It was suggested that I hold my finish like I am posing for the Ben Hogan photo to ensure I finish my turn.

I was also told that my scores (mid to high 80's to mid 90's) are too high for the quality of my swing so I guess it is time for short game and on course help.

I would not change the swing or even worry about those numbers. What I can tell you the FASTEST way of dropping your scores is course management. If you sit back and look at your game you will find you take more "risks" that cost you strokes then you gain from them. IE longer par 4's, say you have 200 plus into them. Do you grab three wood and give it a wack? What are the odds of you costing yourself more strokes by landing it in a hazard around the green? It is a ego thing too I know because you don't want to "layup" on a par 4 but at the end of the day say you lay up on 4 par 4's but that laying up saves you 5 strokes over trying to be the "man" and getting into trouble.

Then on the range hit your long clubs more to get them more on par with the rest of your game. You got this.
