Sounds like a heck of a time! Glad you got to get out with your pops. His hat in he first picture is excellent. Can't say I have Sawgrass on the bucket list though, I would make a meal of 17. I don't need for that to actually happen.

I took my beloved father-in-law to Sawgrass as a retirement present. We played two rounds on the Stadium Course, just as you did. Once so he could figure it out, once so he could excel. One of the best times of my life.

I'm happy for you both.

The course is actually very "fair" if you play from the correct tees. No. 17 is indimidating and the green looks small from the tee because you tee from essentially the same level as the green (and the bunker sheilds the view of the middle and right portions of the green). However, it is only a 135-140 yard shot to a pretty big green. The green has a seriously high ridge in the middle of the green that makes putting very difficult.

Holes Nos. 5, 7, 14 (Tiger's drop hole), and 18 are the hardest holes. In fact hole No. 18 is the most intimidating and hardest tee shot I have every hit - 426 yards (from the blue tees), water along the left (no rough), trees and deep rough on the right, tiny fairway, and the huge clubhouse framing the green.
