Reusing a Pulled Shaft

Is it possible to re-use a pulled shaft from a bore thru head? I am thinking of having Callaway install a VS Proto 60-R in my 5 wood but if the combo doesn't work out on the course I would pull it and put the stock back in. Due to how they seem to cut the tip on an angle would that make the shaft useless in reusing it at the intended length?

 

That's an expensive gamble if I end up with a useless shaft when I'm done.

When you install a shaft in a bore thru, it plays stiffer than it would in a standard bore. It's just as if you tipped the shaft 1 1/2" (in a standard bore).

 

This means you can tip the shaft for installation in a standard bore and get the same playing characteristics.

So, I called up Callaway and got my answer. Due to the Carbon Crown they don't heat the head and pull the shaft, instead the cut it just above the ferrle and then bore out the rest of the old shaft. That means, my stock shaft will be useless and if I don't like the VS Proto, Callaway won't be able to pull it so that I can put it in another club/sell it.
