Legends, Caledonia or Barefoot in May?

Trying to plan a buddies trip for a foursome. I have narrowed it down to these three resorts in the Myrtle area and am just wondering if anyone has any preferences among them. Also is May a particularly busy month because I would prefer to avoid rounds over 4 1/2 hours. I am also considering renting a house in the pinehurst area as the only other real alternative. budget is roughly $750 per player for lodging and golf. players are between 5-13 hc. thanks in advance

Legends is nice plus you are close to their courses if you are playing them, during peak season rounds there will be slower.

Caledonia is very nice also less night life but top notch courses around the area.

Barefoot great lodging with nice courses and all on site plus decent night life.

Legends courses are great for the money. I personally find the Barefoot bunch very over rated but I guess that would depend on what rate you pay. Caledonia is a must play.

Do you want the best golf and best nightlife for your money? BAREFOOT
Do you want to play the best golf course and don't care about nightlife (have some dinner and go to bed)? CALEDONIA
Do you want to save a few dollars and play decent golf courses yet still have nightlife? LEGENDS

2012 we did Barefoot, 2013 we did Caledonia. My group preferred Barefoot because the golf was great and there were still great night life (for example, Thee Doll House). Caledonia was great, but the evenings we couldn't find a bar with anything going on (yes we tried the PIT).

Go with Barefoot and request the Yacht Club Towers. It will be in your budget.

If you would like any questions answered about the golf courses I would be happy to help you. I know them all very well and would be happy to give some advice on the courses as well as the areas. Haven't used any facility's accommodations so I won't be able to speak on those.
