Cameron shafts ?

TeI3 shaft

First of all - love the site and the extensive info - first post

I bought a Newport TeI3 used and the shaft is too short to lengthen properly to what I need and I was wondering if anyone knew what shaft when into these.

I purchased a true temper shaft - supposed to be pretty damn good - but the steps dont exactly match up to the original.

Any ideas on how this shaft will affect value - playability if I cant find an original ??

Playabilty : I don't know.

Value : original is always much better.

 

Why don't you sent it to the Custom shop for a resto job? You'll get a free new shaft, a pick of grip and headcover and one sweet putter.

Any .355 tip putter shaft will work. I don't know of any replacement shafts that match the Cameron shaft (which has approximately 3.25 inch steps). However, contrary to popular belief, the stock Cameron shafts have no magical properties and are quite replaceable. You can pull the original, put in the replacement, game it, and if you want to sell it later just switch back to the original shaft.

 

If I ever do a resto from the SC shop for a gamer, I plan to get it made at 35 inches, then pull the shaft and grip, install a 34.5 inch shaft (my preferred length), and switch back to the original 35 if I sell.
