FW setup?

I've got plenty of FW's to choose from. I've got Titleist PT 15, 17, 20, and 23 and 975F 14.5 and 20.5. Most of the time I carry the 15 and 20. But for scrambles, I carry the PT 17 and two drivers --- my trusty 975J with Rifle 6.5 steel and my Launcher 460/ProLaunch. Sometimes the course dictates what goes in the bag. Mostly it's just what I feel like using

I think it is personal preference and how well you hit your 3W / 3I. I only play one fairway wood (17* 4W) because I have always struck my 3I well, also I want to play 4 wedges. The courses I play are not super long for the most part and I don't notice any huge gap in distance because I have learned to take a little off the 4W. I have never found a 3W that I have a ton of confidence in so that also leads me to the 4W. It is marginally easier to hit, and I don't have a mental block on that particular club.

With that being said, I am in the process of re-evaluating my setup. I am thinking about looking for a 7W and removing my 3I from the bag. I don't think this would be perminant, but I it is worth a try.

I can't hit my Cleveland 3 wood off the deck worth a crap, but it's a good lay up driver. I just got my 4 wood and I'm due to get my 7 wood in the near future. I will say that this is going to probably require me to pull my 2, 3, & 4 out of the bag and add a hybrid. I have put a lot of stock in the Golf Magazine article and have asked my local pro his thoughts and he agrees. I can't argue with that.

i think its just a matter of what your yardages are, what your needs are, and what the course requires. you've got to do what fits you and your game best. you might have to eliminate clubs for wedges. it just depends. i personally play a 3-wood and then it varies between a 18* hybrid, 19* hybrid, or 19* 5-wood. i also carry my 3 iron and only a pw, sw, and lw.
