Myrtle Beach 10/13

Will be in the area for a long weekend and plan on playing Saturday morning. Anyone that lives in the area want to join me or have any recommendations for a must play course.

I like long courses, links style, open.

We took a trip at the end of July and played a few different courses. We played Wild Wing and you probably won’t get much closer than that to CCU. From the tips it’s over 7100 and imo really nice. Nice mix of holes. Nice layout. Definitely not boring. I will definitely play it again.

So where did you end up playing?

Legends Heathland. Real nice, round only took 4:20 minutes. At one point it got very windy so it added to the links course experience.

I’d go back. $60 for breakfast, golf, lunch and 2 drinks. I think it’s a pretty good value.

The guys I got paired with played the course you recommend and said it was very nice also. Maybe next time I am down here that’s where I will go.

Not a bad deal at all. I think we’re staying at legends next time we did Barefoot this past trip.

We were there early September and played at TPC Myrtle Beach and Wachesaw Plantation Club.

Both very nice and was hot as hell.

We used to stay at the Legends but we got away from it because they course conditions were just horrible/unplayable in the spring three years in a row. There is also some serious traffic issues right outside of the facility. They also seem to be crazy strict on the rules. There was a sign on the range that said "No Divots" and they had a guy actually trying to enforce it. Nothing better then being on vacation and having a guy walking up and down the range asking you to only hit long irons and woods to cut back on the divots.

We stayed down at Caledonia/True Blue once and the accommodations are great but you're basically 45 minutes from any kind of nightlife.

The best mix we found was Myrtlewood. We play there once and then drive to courses. Some of our group likes to play 36 so after we play wherever they have the opportunity to play another 18 at Myrtlewood.

There are too many courses to name but all of the Cats courses are good. If you don't mind being away from the action at night the best stretch of courses in my mind are down on Pawleys Island, Pawley's Plantation, Heritage Club, True Blue, and Caledonia. All of them are within probably two miles of each other and all 4 courses are really good.
