3 wood turnaround

I've never been a fan of 3 woods, until now that is. Some time ago I bought a mint condition Cleveland Launcher 3HT 17* for a fairway club but never quite got the hang of it so it went into the garage black hole and languished there for a while. When my two drivers (both ancient in todays terms) started to misbehave, yes it was the clubs and not my fault, I put the launcher back in the bag to use off the tee. Well, what a surprise that was! the damn thing kept hitting the ball straight and just as far as my misbehaving drivers. I was in love with another club again. Although it is termed a 3 wood, because of the 17* loft it's closer to a 4 wood, but hey, it could be a 3.512 wood and I wouldn't care. I'm practicing the Tiger Woods stinger shot, closing up the face, shorter grip, open stance, half swing and with any kind of wind around it's a winner.

Still can't hit off the fairway with this wood unless the ball is sitting up high and that doesn't happen often. From unwanted club to a favourite is just one hit away.
