Iron shaft help

Just bought a set of mizuno HMP’s thought for sure I’d be good with the stock C Taper Lite stiff shafts but they do feel a little too boardy for my liking. I could probably make do and I’m thinking my dispersion will be good with these once I get used to them. I’m wondering though because I’ve found a good deal, how do people like the modus 105 stiffs? Im a little worried they’ll be too whippy for me but I think I might like going lighter again. Sorry I really am not sure of my swing speed but hit 9 iron 150, 8 160 and 7 170.

For 1 full season, I played both those shafts you are talking. I had TM P790 with the CTL S, and TM M5 with the Modus 105 S. I liked the Modus better, as I am familiar with their profile in the Modus 125.

You get more out of your irons than me, but I don't think that Modus 105 is too weak for you. I only got rid of each set due to front elbow issues for the third time in 10 years, and needed to get another set with graphite Recoils 110 again - a past favorite of mine.

There's a large mix of steel iron shafts now in the 105-115g range. The feel and how you end up delivering the head into the ball can be quite different so experiment - maybe find full used sets that have been changed into some you are curious about and at least air swing them no ball.
