Byron Putter Questions

Have a couple of questions that I could probably ask Steve, but I've asked him enough lately and I'm also assuming that there are quite a few golf geeks out there stuck at home that will hopefully be able to help.

Trying to confirm a couple of measurements on DH89's and DH11's.

Length between the heel and toe weights. For instance, my Scotty Newport Classic is only 53mm, whereas my BENI Scottsdale Anser is 56mm. It could just be me, but I think the wider area gives a little bigger sweet spot. Wondering what the Byrons are, and if they're both the same or a little different.Thickness of the topline. My understanding is DH11 is thinner, but I can't seem to find anything specifically confirming. I have a 33"/350g Oil Can Classic and the topline is definitely thicker than the standard 330g classic newport.Face thickness. I thought I read that the DH11 had a thicker face even though the topline is thinner, but I can't seem to find anything confirming.Thanks in advance. Hope everyone is staying safe!

Can anyone confirm if the topline is thicker on the DH89 or the DH11? I assume the face is thicker on the DH11?

Interested as I like the feel on my 33"/350g newport better the than standard 330g, but I don't like the thicker topline on the 350g. Wondering if the DH11 is the best of both worlds.

Yes the top line on a DH89 is thicker than the DH11 from the address position. I believe the DH11 does have a thicker face though since there is no pocket milled out.

If you’re ordering a new custom, keep in mind that unless he has some “found” old stock, Byron hasn’t made the DH11 in a long time. So your options are limited to the 89, 612, 620, and B-17.

If you want a thinner face just roll-top it. I did this to my 2008 SC S.Select. Saved $3800 in the process and its probably the only one. Visually it looks half as wide.
