Sonartec 2.5 v Exotics Fairway Wood

Adding a new fairway wood to the bag and these two are high on the list.

Anyone have any experience of the two.

The TEE is closer to the Sonartec 3.5 than the 2.5. It's got a deep face and low spin.

If you want a shallower profile, the TEE may not be the right choice.

My vote would go with Sonartec. I thought they felt more solid and I like the compact look better, but that's just me. They're both great fairway metals off the deck and tee. No way to really go wrong.

the ss 3.5 does match up better to the exotic.. deep face wise- performance-- these are the two longest fwy woods on the market - i feel.. the ss-03 will allow for a more penetrating flight-- the exotic a tad higher due to the ti face.. both rock solid... FLIP a coin*** :drinks:

First Post, so bear with me.

I own both woods right now, and I agree that the Sonartec 3.5 is a tad hotter off of the face than that of the Exotics with a more boring trajectory. But I believe it all has to do with the shaft. I have an Aldila NVS-65 on my 14* Sonartec while I purchased a 15* Exotic 3-wood with their Aldila NV-65. Both were long, but I was not sold on the Tour Edge NV shaft for feel. I ended up putting a Fujikura ZCOM shaft on the Exotics 3-wood and WHOAAAA. I ended up hitting my 3-wood tee shots past my partner's driver tee shots. I also can hit it pretty well off the deck and in short rough. If you are looking for forgiveness, though, I suggest the Sonartec 2.5 15* with the Fujikura Platform shaft. It is a very solid fairway wood. I have also demo'ed the new Callaway X fairway woods and those are pretty nice, also. Good luck.

I agree about reshafting the TEE. I have the 4 wood (16.5) degrees. The stock stiff shaft spec'd out at a regular. I had it reshafted with the Diamana Redboard 83 stiff and good lord, this is one great combo. I owned a Sonartec NP99 4 wood in the past and believe the head shape/depth was similar. I have not compared to the new Sonartecs, but the TEE with Diamana Reboard is a lethal combo.

The TEE 15* is awesome and that's with the stock Fuji shaft. If you read the posts on here, with a better after market shaft the club is even better.

Don't forget to try the Sonartec NP99, which in my opinion is better than both the clubs you mention! Also, they just dropped the price on them, so you can find new ones on shebay for less than 150 dollars!
