Odyssey Black #9 vs White Hot Tour #9

Can anyone comment on any major differences between these two ? I spent the rainy day here in Chicago at a local shop trying out putters and really like the feel and setup of the Odyssey #9, it seemed to fit my stroke well. I only tried the xg and white hot tour, the tour had a better feel , but notice they also make a black #9, however it seems to have a bit of a different look from the back, is this true ? I tried some of the other black i series and they were really nice, but they didn't have a #9.

Try the cleveland Classic #2 that looks like the Odyssey #9, but is all steel. I like it a lot better and it has the same basic shape. I own the XG #9 and I feel that you lose some feel on longer putts. I like it for the 8-10 footers though!

i completely agree with jpaul's comment. i have a xg#9 and anything outside of 15 feet you definitely lose feel. inside though it is great. i personally like the insert because i was leaving putts short. if you want an all steel putter you're going to have more feel but you're also going to need to really practice distance control with it, because on the longer putts you're really going to need to give it a go.

I just bought the Tour #9 after trying all 3 models. The Tour has the same insert as the Black Series and it costs $120 less. The Black Series was nice and it looked great with the exception of the rear sightline not extending all the way back due to the tungsten weighting. Overall I just didn't feel like the Black Series was worth the additional cost over the Tour.

I bought the Black Series i #9 before the White Hot Tour came out. I tried the Tour the other day and didn't notice much of a difference in feel between the two. Just a totally different look, and as mentioned above, the sightline extends throughout the whole flange unlike that of the Black Series. Also, the Black has a tungsten flange which is supposed to help roll the ball better although I'm not so sure it makes the black better than the tour. If you like the way the Black looks, then go with it, but I think that the White Hot Tour is a better value for pretty much the same thing.

Oh, and one more difference, the White Hot Tour is 355 grams in 33 in while the Black Series is 350 grams in 33 in.

Could you expand/clarify what you mean that the black has a totally different look ? The shape is same, right? I noticed from the picture, the back on the black appears to have a step design and the sight line does not go all the way back like you noted. The only reason I am considering the black is I have a credit from callaway pre-owned and they don't have the tour.

The Whit Hot Tour is much better and cheaper IMO. Doesn't have the cut off sight line either.
